Caliente Pizza & Draft House

Definitely my favorite of the locations. I think this place does the crust just right. Love a margarita pizza, maybe sometimes it's a little skinny on the mozzarella, but overall very good.

We decided to try dine-in at Caliente tonight. We have had awful experiences ordering pizza for take out in the past, waiting upwards of an hour after the pick up time. Tonight was just as painful. We ordered 2 pizzas… 45 minutes later we received a barely warm cheese pizza that we saw waiting at the window for almost 10 minutes before it was brought to us. 20 minutes later we left, never getting our second pizza. It was another extremely disappointing outing and we won’t be going back. We can find over priced pizza somewhere else.

This was a first at the Rte.8 Caliente's where they had only one server and she was new and very lost. It was very busy and we felt bad for the server. She took or order quickly but we never got anything including our drinks after about 20 minutes, she went into the kitchen and never came back out. We left after about 25 minutes. Other people in there that we talked to were having same problems.

Cool place! We had the pizza and we loved it. The crust was thin and crispy which is how we like it. The service was ok, but it was extremely busy so that was to be expected. Overall was a great experience for us.

Award winning pizza along with garbage service. It would be appreciated to be truthful on the phone. When it will actually take about two hours to pick up one plain extra large and mozzarella sticks, please don’t say 45 minutes. Standing in your store for an hour for a hot pizza and cold sticks is not worth it.

If this were unusual I wouldn’t complain, but I’ve been burned three for three visits. Time to go elsewhere.

UPDATE: October 2025 - It’s been seven years and I decided to try them again. They said 40 to 45 minutes and when I get there they say one of their ovens is broken. Actually took 70 minutes. Pizza is OK but I’ve had better locally.

I’ve been kind to Caliente (Allison Park). Used to be a great pie. I am sorry to say, I cannot chalk this up to a bad night anymore. They have regressed below the mean. 9 cut (pan) Godzilla (supreme). Dough was soggy, crust was ultra chewy. Sauce has now become sweet with minimal flavor. Served lukewarm. I’ve supported in the past and I’ve thought the hate was not warranted. Unfortunately, I won’t be back until they maybe figure things out. Maybe less expansion and more attention to quality is warranted.

I called to order but was put on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up and ordered online the estimated time for my order being prepared was 25-35 minutes so I showed up 25 minutes later and was told it would be 7 more minutes after about 5 minutes I received a text that my order was ready so I went in and was told in fact it was not ready after waiting 60 minutes the girl working the counter had to leave to go home and nobody replaced her so I stood in the lobby with 15 other people all waiting for our food and getting nowhere finally after 1 hour and 25 minutes some guy I hadn't seen yet came out of the back and called my name he then tried handing me food which was half mine and half someone else's order.
Seriously run do not order from here unless you dont care what you get or when you get it lol this place is a joke.

If you're getting Caliente, you gotta get one of their grandma pies. They're the best chain Pizza in Pittsburgh.

Their regular pizza is good as well, but not as exceptional as those grandma pies are.

This was surprisingly bad. The pizza was just awful, tasted like frozen but worse; they also didn’t cut through it so I needed to get a knife (a sharp one- the dough was quite hard to get thru)- and the price, $27 for a lousy pizza with two toppings- I do not recommend, there’s 100 better options in this city, don’t waste your $.

Ordered through ubereats. Total cost $45.19. The menu selection has standard cheese as the default and included (even if you select an additional cheese for a total additional cost of almost $5.)

We ordered mixed cheese, pepperoni and provolone added. What we got was some weird fake cheese called provel? It tastes like tostinos. They tried to say there's normal cheese on it but none of the 4 people trying to eat it think that was accurate. Whatever provel is, its not good. They gave me a 65 or 70% credit to the account which is fine - however, I paid $45 and change total, so it is doubtful we will be using it or ordering again, because they didnt remedy it right (which would be a new pizza delivered? Since we ordered it for dinner). Used to like caliente, but having issues with the last 2 orders so we may not order again.

I will never step foot in this Caliente’s again! We have been going there for years and never were we treated so bad as last Tuesday!! The waitress was smug and rude!!! We asked about the manager that was a wonderful person. We were told they had to let her go,, which was a lie she quit. The waitress also announced in a very loud voice we are closing in 5 minutes. Never did anyone else that worked there treat us that way!! We have always brought a lot of people in with us, which I thought was good for your business! Apparently Calientes doesn’t want our business!!!
