Boardwalk Vegan has some of the best vegan food in the greater Philly area. Their pizzas, shoobies, fries, and the holy Sea Serpent Italian Hoagie are top tier. That said, consistently, their service is terrible. I’ve waited an hour for dine-in food to hit the table, I’ve waited 20min in the store to pick up after my order was ready, and many more similar experiences. It is so rough that it makes me second guess ordering here but then I remember how good the food is and throw myself back into the gauntlet. It seems like whoever is doing the food is an absolute rockstar and but it all breaks down when it comes to getting the food out of the kitchen and into the customer’s hands.

I’ve been eating wawa veggie sandwiches and French fries for over a week now and I decided to treat myself to something vegan so I ordered through grubhub for the first time. I guess I accidentally ordered it to be delivered the following day. So I just called them and asked them if they were able to change the delivery time. They said sure no problem but apparently they couldn’t find a GH driver so the owner drove 20 minutes to deliver it to me and I’m honestly about to cry after the week I’ve had. They will never know how much this means to me. I am a lifelong Boardwalk Vegan fan and cannot recommend them enough.

I usually get pics but we scarfed our food down before that could happen. First visit to Boardwalk after hearing countless recommendations for all the veganized boardwalk classics. I decided to try the “crab” cake sandwich and the mozzarella sticks, and my 6 y/o got the kids cheeseburger with raw veggies. Kiddo isn’t veg but she didn’t even notice that the burger was meatless. She loved it! We both loved my fries, and the raw veggies that came with her meal - celery and carrots. Very fresh! Loved that the kids meals had the option of veggies to substitute fries, and even better that they had the additional option of cooked veggies or raw. My crab cake was delicious! Fixed my craving perfectly, and was a generous serving. The mozzarella sticks were excellent too - so thick, perfectly crispy crust on outside, and the cashew mozzarella was incredibly creamy. Staff was super nice and very accommodating. We will definitely be back to try the highly recommended pizzas and to try some of the many dessert options. Large menu! Cute decor, and bonus points for playing all the best of Frank Sinatra.
Kid-friendliness: Absolutely kid-friendly, from the menu options to the atmosphere. The eat-in area is fairly small so that should be kept in mind.

This is my favorite vegan pizza in the Philly area. The crust is nice and substantial- no paper-thin-crust here! The sauce and cheese ratio is generous, flavorful, and perfect. I like the Summer Classic. The employees are always so helpful and friendly. I wish I lived closer, I'd go all the time.

Wow! Been there before and will return again. We tried the octopus pizza and cannoli for the first time and both were delicious. The cheesesteak is a classic, can’t go wrong! Our server was very friendly and kind. Great experience.

There were a few tables and some window seats for dining in and then a couple seats outside. The menu was large and everything looked great! I grew up in Havertown but became a vegetarian when I moved away. A good Philly cheesesteak is the only thing I miss when eating vegetarian, so I was really excited to try the cheesesteak at Boardwalk Vegan. It definitely lived up to the hype (and the buffalo wings were great too), and the owners were friendly and inviting. Havertown is lucky to have this spot!

My parent’s are vegan and we always have a hard time finding things for them to eat if we want to order out. The woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Well, you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this food. The fries are real potato fries and delicious, the Italian hoagie, and pizza balls were too. Finished with fresh piped cannoli in a crispy shell. They don’t skimp on the quality of their ingredients and I didn’t need a gallon of water after eating so I know there wasn’t high sodium content which is often a problem pretty much everywhere. Furthermore the place is clean. Ticked all the boxes for us, we highly recommend, and will be ordering again!
