We came here for coffee and they closed early due to the weather. I immediately took a photo of the weather scene. Roads were wet but no snow accumulation and it was currently not snowing. There were a couple brief snow squalls a bit earlier but nothing to cry about. Not sure why a few snow flakes was cause to close a business.
Guy at the register was rude and I’m not sure why. I’ve never walked out without a drink and at least one bag of beans in hand — until today. If that’s the kids attitude I’ll find a new spot.

Got an iced caramel latte there today and it was delicious.

I stopped into House Cup today to grab a Chai and take a phone call. I've only been there once and thought I'd give it a go again. I ordered a large Chai, my favorite! I was bummed when I discovered it tasted mostly like warm milk vs. Chai. I typically don't make a big deal about it but for $6.30 (about the same price as Starbucks!) I felt it was necessary. I let the barista know and she kindly made me a new one. The second one, made by someone different than the first, tasted like a coffee vs. a Chai. I was confused since I saw her use the Chai concentrate. With that said, I finished and didn't bother saying anything else.
Future recommendation: if people are enjoying a coffee, cappuccino or chai at House Cup, it would be amazing if it was served in an actual cup vs a to-go cup.

House Cup is the kind of place where you might meet a new friend (as I have), the staff might get to know you so well that you recognize each other at a Marc Maron concert, and someone else might comment on your hair cut, all of which might out you as maybe coming here a little too often. However, it's worth it, because the staff is obviously wonderful and fun, and the coffee is so good that it's the only hot brew I enjoy anymore. House Cup beans are in my cabinet to make my own hot and cold brew. Plus, staff and customers will love up your pup when you bring them in for a pup cup and mourn with you after you've had to say goodbye to him or her. I'm excited to bring my new rescue in to meet the gang.

I'm a standard drip-coffee kind of guy, and of all the local options only the Head Nut comes even close to the quality (and the thrift) of a House Cup coffee.
Staff interactions usually run between polite and Cheers levels of friendliness.
If you bring a thermos you can fill up for a buck (and skip the line). They don't phone in the self service station - the four options out on a given day have been properly brewed and (when I don't come in within an hour of closing time) are warm-to-hot. Lots of add ons too - spices, different natural and artificial sweeteners, four dairy/non-dairy milk options.
Bagged coffee is $20 a pound, more than I usually want to spend, but the four I've tried have all been excellent and well worth the price. For flavored coffees The Head Nut is better, but if you're going for just a quality pure coffee you can't beat the freshness or selection available at House Cup.
Bring a quarter for the parking meters. They're generous with time, if you're not having a business lunch here one will probably be enough. If metered parking is full there's a lot in the back - it runs on a phone app, so is much less convenient, but nearly always has spaces available.

Brian Niles is one of the most caring business owners I’ve ever met. He went above and beyond to share insight into the coffee roasting industry for a graduate business project and every roast I sampled (Harmony, Ethiopia and Costa Rica) were also amazing! While Rosie’s blend will always have a special place in my heart, the other blends sampled are also very flavorful. As a fun fact, the Rosie’s and the Harmony blends are the best for creating latte art!

When I go, we are out of almond milk. We are out of chai tea. We are out of oat milk. We are out of raw sugar. We are out of …I am so sick of it. Don’t you know by now I make a trip to only be disappointed. Kids you hire don’t care. They are not nice unless you tip and tip big. Been coming to you for a while and i used to recommend you to many people. Don’t you think that my time is worth something especially when I paid for parking to walk over to you ? Shame on you. I liked you but I am now done with you. Please Delaware county, bring another good local coffee shop that’s fully stocked without issues. House cup is out!
I love House Cup Coffee Roasters! I've had their coffee delivered to my home regularly since they opened. My subscription of freshly roasted beans consistently shows up on my door step on time. If I need it sooner, I bump my delivery up, or pause when I'm away - their web site makes it so easy! And the shop is a fantastic place to meet friends and business associates. Absolutely adore this Havertown gem.

The chai is from the same bland concentrate I could buy myself at Target. Both pastries were incredibly dry. The store was cute with cute merch, but it was small and felt loud and cramped. Wouldn’t do work there. Or go back in general.
