5 Stars all around! I've been coming here for many years
Do they have a different cook every night? No consistency in the entree. Falling off on quality and flavor. Ribs tough, dry, burnt.
First time went there the lady at the window was rude and the food was not that good. I gave them another chance. The second time the food was terrible. The lo mein was taking together. It’s like they from previous night and the chicken had no flavor
I went there with two of my friends for lunch, and the place wasn't very busy. The food and service time was pretty good, and I really enjoyed the Singapore noodles and everything was a decent price. Unfortunately the staff member who served us gave annoyed looks and was impatient when we were splitting the bill. I would take out again, because the food is good, but I don't think I would dine in.
We ordered take out sushi. My daughter doesn't like the orange spice. She got the avacado and cucumber roll. They put all of our rolls together. Hers ended up having the orange seasoning on it which she couldn't eat. Why not separate them.
My husband called them and they were so rude to him.
Never ever going back! No apology what so what so ever.
Ordered shrimp fried rice and three egg rolls got one pack of soy sauce no napkins or a fork. It was a $25.00 order
Food always good..
It's the Chinese food you've had your whole life. Also Sushi. We picked up food for eight people and everyone was happy
Fishiest smelling sushi I've ever had the misfortune to smell. Definitely not fresh
Service was good. Food was good. Kid friendly.

Got the pork fried rice, there was a huge spider crawling around in it. Will not be back.

This place used to be one of the best Chinese-American restaurants in Delaware county. Now, I would say it's only about on par with an average city counter restaurant on a good night.
Looking for an option for decent take out on a weeknight when you're ending your day later than expected can be a challenge. My wife suggested Sampan, which seemed like a safe option.
She asked me to order a "big broth noodle bowl" which they corrected me and said it was a "deluxe wonton noodle bowl". It ended up not being what she intended on ordering, but she said it was still acceptable.
Now, to the reason for the 1-star review. My order was the egg drop wonton soup. There wasn't anything too bad about the broth (which admittedly is hard to screw up). I kid you not that the wontons in the soup tasted like bleach mixed with toilet water. I tried eating one and couldn't even swallow the first bite. They had to be old and gone bad at least a day ago. You can read my other reviews posted about other restaurants: I am not known to be a super-picky eater and fairly judge the quality of the food I eat with perspective of the price and quality advertised. Saying that the food I was served was inedible is a terrible understatement and a disgrace for a restaurant that built up a reputation as Sampan has.
I will not be ordering food from here and think everyone reading this review deserves to know how far this restaurant--once voted top Chinese restaurant in Delaware county no more than 5 years ago--has fallen from grace. I sincerely hope someone working from the restaurant reaches out to me and apologizes for the disgrace that was served to me this evening.
Parking: There are parking meters next to the restaurant, space is limited. There is also a parking lot about a block away that charges a small fee during the daytime.

The owners of Sampan should be ashamed of themselves. They own the building down the street on Darby and rent to a smoke shop called “One Stop Shop”. The smoke shop actively sells to minors. Middle schoolers show their school ID and the smoke shop accepts it even though they are minors.
