The only good thing about this place is that the beer is cheap. It's a cash only bar, they have no food, there's no sign to indicate what it is and the bartender that was there when I went was drinking on the job, I'll personally never go back or recommend this place to anybody I know

It's little places like this with a huge heart and more soul than gospel choir that make America great. Visited this historic bar by pure chance while traveling from Maryland to Iowa. It's not every day you get to belly up to a bar that's the oldest in a entire state to have been ran by the same family since prohibition ended. That's 1933 & 12 yrs short of a hundred for all those who don't know. Very nice lady bartender greeted us with a smile & made us out of towners feel right @ home. Beer was ice cold, environment was clean & comfortable. Sure wish I had a place like this back home in Iowa. Thanks for the hospitality , great conversation, and for sharing your incredible history with us Sutton's...
