I ordered chicken paprikash and cottage cheese + breaded pork chops. The pork chops were delicious (and why I'm rating this a 2/5 instead of a 1/5) but the paprikash was very underwhelming, it was a little cold, and I probably shouldn't have ate it, since I vomited when I got home. I'm a novice cook and I've made paprikash following a recipe a few times, and I really enjoyed it, so I figured why not? But it was really underwhelming, I do hate to leave bad reviews, and hey, maybe it was because I came in late at night (like 6:20pm) so maybe they were just tired towards the end of the shift, who knows, but I found it very underwhelming. I believe a bit of heavy cream would pair well with the paprikash to bring out the flavor more, personally.
Service and atmosphere was on point, I rated both of those a 5/5. But people come to restaurants for food, and for $48 for 2 people, you want it to be money well spent. I can't say I spent my money well here, I think this region of PA has been very disappointing for restaurants, the only restaurant in this area that I'd go back to after trying like 20+ is Thai Kitchen. Not an ad, but I was thinking in my head "damn, I could've paid 50% less, and have much better food!"
Anyways, if you do go here, I would recommend doing it earlier in the day.

Absolutely amazing food and people. They make you feel at home.
Cute little place. Food was great and affordable. Server (might have been an owner) was funny and made me laugh. Will definitely be back. Oh, and try the cucumber salad, it's amazing however I do feel the portion should be bigger. But seriously everything was really good.

We had a party of 9. It seemed like everyone got a different menu item. Everybody liked their food. I had the Hungarian gypsy pork. It is 2 pieces of garlic-fried boneless pork chops served with homemade mashed potatoes and green beans. I was able to substitute the green beans for apple sauce. It was so good that I ate the whole thing. Over half of us had to take the rest of the food home because the portions were so big. Then for dessert I had the crepes (palacsinta); It consists of thin dough - fried in a frying pan - and then filled with one of eight fillings, rolled up and topped with powdered sugar. I got the cinnamon sugar filling. If you are ever in Hellertown, I definitely recommend you stop in and try their great Hungarian food. You will be glad you did.
Wheelchair accessibility: My daughter uses a walker and had no problem getting in the restaurant.

Best restaurant in the Hellertown area! The owner is amazing and always welcoming. The atmosphere is very old school and takes you back to simpler times. Food is always on point and they have a very large variety. Something to suit any member of the family. The Hungarian dishes are very authentic and made like they were cooked in your grandma’s kitchen. Reminds me of childhood meals when we’d visit our relatives. High quality ingredients and tastes that you don’t get at many local places. Not just some pre-made junk from a bag but a truly delicious meal every time. Desserts are amazing too. Highly recommended.
Parking: Parking lot around back. Street parking out front. Busy street so be careful if you park there.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room for the entire family
Wheelchair accessibility: First floor entry with double doors.

Nagyon finom volt minden! Came in around 4 pm and was the only one eating for almost an hour, which is a shame because the food was very good. The atmosphere is a bit dated, but the server was friendly and attentive. Halupki was good, and portioned generously. Also enjoyed the homemade chicken noodle soup. Got a smoked sausage to go, tastes great with eggs in the morning. Will be back to try more. Hungarian comfort food reminds me of my grandfather who passed recently, wish I could’ve brought him here.

I have dined here multiple times and never disappointed. Hearty dishes with great flavor. Have enjoyed chicken paprikas (tastes just as good the next day if you have any to take home), noodles with cottage cheese and bacon, and the meatball. Will be returning.
