My husband and I returned to What if because of a the delicious food and wonderful service from Brooke. Unfortunately we had an unexpected emergency and had to leave early. Brooke was very understanding. She got us out and ready to go quickly with no issues whatsoever. Love this restaurant and love Brooke. If I lived near there I would probably eat there every day! I have food allergies and the chef is very accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant.

You wouldn't know it by the outside, but there is an amazing restaurant underneath the Howard Johnson! We came here for a special occasion and was blown away by this place. The food is incredible and so are the drinks! Our waiter was such a sweetheart and took food allergies very seriously. All of our food was cooked perfectly! The dessert was very good, but I recommend sharing it with more than 2 people. I would love to come back here again!

I’ve always said that the food will always speak for itself. Really for me it always comes down to service. Brook was our server and she deserves more than 5 stars. She is a star of a person and comes out through her service. She was very attentive to my wife’s dietary restrictions. We ate at Devon’s and the food was great but the service was horrible. Down to the manager. Come here and you will not ever go anywhere else. We just wish that we lived closer. Our compliments to the chef owner and Brook you rock.

I have stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites many times, but this was the first time I realized the Howard Johnson's had a restaurant in the basement. I had to take stairs to get to it. I don't know if there is an elevator, so if you can't do stairs, call and ask first. I only wanted to place an order to go, soI could continue working in my hotel. I had the best hostess take my order. Her name was Victoria or Vicki (but definitely not Emily). She brought my iced tea out right away and served it to me with a platter of lemons and sweetener options in the seating area outside the restaurant doors while I waited. When she bought my food, she refilled the tea and made sure I took my sweetener choice to go too. The food was hot, even after my short walk back. I wasn't expecting bread and oil with seasonings. That was a nice touch. I will definitely order from here again. The atmosphere inside was lively and full of laughter from the bar and a family singing happy birthday in the corner booth. It was obvious everyone was enjoying the place.

I wish we would have found this place sooner. It was definitely a treat. Our reservations were for 7:00. We arrived a few minutes earlier and we're seated immediately. The place was very crowded for a Saturday night. It was the night before Father's Day which was understandable.
Everything went smooth sailing. We had plenty of time and never felt rushed. Our appetizers came out fairly quickly. They were perfect. Shrimp Cocktail but on another level. They were Cajun spiced and served with a cocktail sauce that was made like a salsa, but with cocktail sauce flavors. Deliciously served with Tri color tortilla chips. My husband loved the bread so much with the herb dipping olive oil. He ordered extra. I had the Ahi Tuna. Cooked perfectly and sliced thin.
We shared the grilled Caesar Salad.
My husband had the own seared cod. I tried his and it was very good. I had the blackened Halibut. Nicely done with the polenta and veggies on the side.
Cappuccino and dessert was also in need. Perfect together.
Thank you, Kelly, for your outstanding service. We enjoyed our night so much. Next time I'll take some pictures. We'll definitely be back!
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my dinner there. The restaurant was suggested to me by my concierge as I stayed at the hotel nearby upon arriving. There was no wait staff to sit me when I arrived. My waitress was lovely. I chose the special, Filet minon steak and Chesapeake crab, but I found the steak to be dry and flavorless, lump crab in white sauce to be messy. The only thing that I enjoyed out of the night was the baked brie and when I expressed that I didn’t like the steak they brought me another brie. The owner then joined my table, sitting down without invite, and questioned why I didn’t like the dinner, then asked me if she could prepare the crab and butter and bring back out the dish. I politely refused. I was told I would be comped for the steak, I was comped half. I guess they needed the money. Save yourself the trip. Definitely not worth it.
