The service was slow. The mushroom burger was supposed to be loaded with shrooms, it came out with 5 or 6 slices of shrooms. $19.50 for that? Waited 15 min for marinara for cheese sticks.we were told it was taking so long beacause they had to warm it up,it came out refrigerator temp.

Bad. Bad. Bad. The women bartenders don't like other women. I know it sucks to be beat and gross, but maybe find another career that's less intimidating and not a constant reminder of your inadequacy. The male bartender needs to sack up and stop letting the big bad beat broads dictate the vibe. All around bad vibes. The food and drinks are less than mediocre.

Late post: service is ok but the food is pretty good. Great place for fast good food with your drinks. I definitely recommend this place. So far no complaint on any of my spread of food lol.

Awesome service! Drinks and food were great. We were hoping for a sports bar to watch ncaa bball and Sams was the perfect place, and our team won so it's a lucky spot as well!

We arrived and we ( party of 3) were forced to share a TWO person table, challenging at best. The server was very quiet and she was not very welcoming. The ambiance was nice, tvs going with sporting events on ( not too loud), very clean, comfortable for conversation and the decor and overall atmosphere was very nice. The bartender was an issue, while he appeared to be running the bar well and everyone seemed attended to, he had an overly aggressive attitude towards us, it was an hour before closing and we asked if we could sit at a four top so that we could be comfortable and the waitress made a huge deal and ran up and told the bartender that then came over to us and said there was still time for people to come in ( rainy, Sunday an hour before closing btw) and he absolutely did not want us at a 4 person table with only 3 people. We ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees and we barely had any room at our tiny table. The service and attitude of the Bartender and waitress will definitely prevent us from recommending this Tavern to anyone and definitely keep us from coming back. With the prices of dining out and being thoughtful and choosing local businesses you'd think they wouldn't be so unfriendly or unaccommodating to people wanting to spend their time and money in their establishment.

We stumbled upon this spot while in SF while looking for a place to watch an early morning KU Basketball game. I must say we were not disappointed Dave (bartender) was awesome. He was so welcoming and a great conversationalist. We had a great time enjoying the game and talking to Dave. Not to mention the food and drinks were very good and on point. Great way to kick off our long weekend in our favorite city. I hope you have the opportunity to stop in while Dave is working.

Sam's deserves your business! My party of four walked in what we thought were the front doors. However as it turns out, that part of Sam's is a traditional sit down restaurant complete with white linen table cloths and fancy water glasses. That was not the lunch vibe we were going for haha - a quick redirect from the helpful server led us to the TAVERN specifically! It's right next door, and apparently many make this same mistake. Decor: Pretty basic. They could probably do with a refresh, but it's clean and well maintained. Service: Quick and efficient during the lunch rush - quite a few folks between the bar, the window seats, and the booths. Our orders were taken and delivered in 15 minutes or less. Food: We all ordered sandwiches of some variety - everyone had positive things to say about their meals. I ordered the chicken sandwich and I can confirm other reviewers who rave about it. Upon ordering, the server also commented "good choice" ... sooooo get the chicken sandwich! Price: Pretty decent, I think all in maybe 15-20 bucks per person? A good option with colleagues for sure!

Great place to watch football. No bad seat in the house. Lots of screens. Great sound. Staff is SO friendly with excellent service. Super clean and cool!

It's hard not to feel right at home in this hidden gem of a restaurant/bar. I enjoy lunches here during the week, and happily share the space with regulars, visitors and sports fans who come in to enjoy a drink while watching a game on one of the several screens. An old-school, but slightly elevated sports tavern with excellent food (they share the kitchen with Sams Grill). But best of all the staff is friendly, efficient, and will treat you like family.A great option when you want a break from food to go, or waiting in line at the popular lunch spots on Kearny St.

Came here New Year's Day for dinner and there was only 2 people working the entire area. Despite that, our server did a great job informing us their situation soon after we walked in so we were prepared for possibly a longer wait between service. The two men did the best they could and food came out pretty fast for the situation. Chicken strips were super crispy and juicy warm inside (very solid job well done). Lacked a little seasoning but wasn't a big deal if people like dipping sauces. Fries were good and crispy. Burger was average, nothing crazy. Could also use a little bit more seasoning.

Sam's Tavern is a super welcoming place with a great friendly atmosphere. If you're into sports, I noticed the TV screens broadcasting the World Cup and highlights from a Warriors game. Looking for a good strong drink that hits the spot for happy hour? I recommend you try the Manhattan!

I really like this place! Came here twice in one week for a quick dinner after work. There is solid service too - thank you to the waitress who is usually there during the weeknights and to Cesar the bartender! It's always fun to try something new here too. My partner really likes the smash burger but here are some other things we've tried:FISH AND CHIPSServed with skinny fries and coleslaw. I love the fries because they're crispy! The fish is good too but seems like the batter is different depending on the night. Most recently, the batter was on the thinner side but there were still crispy bits even if the fish wasn't fully coated. The fish pieces are a small portion though.FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICHServed with potato salad (but really you can choose between that, fries, or a salad). The potato sad is made with red potatoes and is not mayo based. It was lacking in flavor and needed more salt so I did ask for a side of mayo haha. For the sandwich - the bun was so soft! My fatass wished the chicken piece was bigger. It's made with chicken breast and was crispy BUT not really flavorful. I guess that's where the sauce and coleslaw comes in. Overall, an okay fried chicken sandwich - I'm glad I tried it cause now I know.ONION RINGSUgh, I love these things. Nice big pieces of onions that are perfectly fried - the batter makes for a crispy outside too. They are so good with ranch. I usually order these as an appetizer or as dessert after a meal bwahaha.

Music way too loud, hard to have a conservation! Burger sliders good, chicken just OK. Bowl of calm chowder cold, sent back and returned tepid at best. Has great potential. Need to put customers first, and pay attention to details, e.g.---Cold chowder!

We used to dine at the old Sams a long time ago and since the pandemic, they have done a nice job of remodeling the restaurants. It is located outside of Chinatown has three places to dine - One is a Pub/Bar, Main restaurant and an outdoor patio. We ate in the outside restaurant because HH is served between M-F 3-6 pm. and wanted a casual place to have a drink before heading home. We ordered during two visits:- French fries which were hot and crispy- Oysters on half shelf HH special- Meatballs- were a bit tough but still tasted good - Caesar salad with anchovies on top - great with anchovies- Shrimp on the HH menu - large portion and deliciousGreat location for people getting off work and enjoying some snacks before heading home. You can get a full private meal at the restaurant and more casual meal at the Grill or outside on the patio. Definitely will return - loved the casual atmosphere!

Sam’s 69, like a French 75, only better … because, DUH. And very tasty chicken tender sliders and onion rings with kicked up versions of Ranch sauce for dipping. Great service and reasonable prices.
