I “It is what it is” Mx

We use to love to eat here, however last Friday food was not delicious at all, portions too small not tasty. Steak meat was too tough, fish too dry….we probably do not come back. UVA much better for same price.

Had pretty high expectation of this place but unfortunately none of the food we tired was very good. The salmon was oily and tasteless on a bed of salmon, the pasta was pretty tasteless with no salt or seasoning. The mashed potatoes were dry. The chicken was alright. Was hoping to write a better review but cannot.

Our server Ella was great, she took initiative to bring champagne glasses with her when greeting our table and followed with an ice bucket for our bottle with out being asked. She was knowledgeable about the menu and followed up frequently throughout our meal. The courses arrived quickly for service at 7pm on a Friday night. The food good. Suggestions would be for crostini or crackers with the antipasta and tuna tartar.

This place was very nice with an upscale setting and outdoor patio for dining outside during nice weather. They have availability to accommodate large parties. We came for a birthday dinner and had an order of calamari, which was perfectly tender and fried crispy. The chicken Parmigiana was a fantastic portion with a side of pasta in garlic and oil.

Everything mostly very good. Lamb chops, salmon, branzino and appetizers like calamari, burrata, shrimp cocktail, scallops were excellent.Wont deduct a point for it but wish the oysters on half shell were served better. I just learned how to shuck last couple months so I know they should have the oyster liquor in them and hence not look as dry, and be cut from the bottom muscle then flipped which it was not. I couldn't suck out any of the oysters and needed to use my butter knife to cut them out myself.

First time at Osteria Saporino, but won't be my last. The food was outstanding. The Carciofi Romani (artichokes stuffed w/shrimp) were outstanding. Entrees veal porcini and pappardelle Saporino (pappardelle w/shrimp & scallops) were very good. Pistachio cake was a wonderful finish. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. The only downside is that the room is a bit noisy. But it didn't take away from an outstanding dinner. We'll certainly return.

Our waiter was very inattentive. My husband and I went for our first anniversary dinner because we ate here after our elopement. It had been our tradition that for major events we eat here. But after this trip I'm not sure if that tradition will continue! My chicken Milanese tasted like dirty oil and was overall unenjoyable

This was our first time there. I love seafood bisque, so I ordered the shrimp bisque. It was so thin it was more soup than bisque. It was also overly salty and I just couldn't eat it. I ordered a pasta dish that was bland and unappealing but I was hungry so I ate half of it. The clatter of the open concept kitchen was competing with the loud music from the speakers and the overall patron conversations, so it was loud and distracting and I could barely hear my husband across the small table. We will not be returning.

The octopus appetizer was dry and overcooked. Never cut octopus into small pieces then cook. It was actually horrible however the two entrees were very good as was the dessert. Service was absolutely incredible from the time we sat down until we left.
