Cheesesteak and fries were ok. $32 Crabcakes were served as 2 crabcakes on a plate. No sauces, no garnish, nothing but the cakes. Interestingly, the sashimi was the best item we had. Atmosphere was old and in desperate need of renovation. Like an old diner with 70s era wallpaper murals. Server was lovely.

This was my first time ever coming here and let me tell you it's one of the best places to get sushi, I forgot what our waitress's name was but she was the best waitress I have ever seen. She was very helpful with the menu and she was eager to make a conversation The sushi there was outstanding Don't let the prices scare you. It is well worth the visit.

My wife got off work and decided to surprise me with a date night and order some "nice" food for takeout. She even ordered me the "Seafood Newburg" which came with some specialty sauce. Well the staff didn't fasten the lid on the sauce container, and it immediately started leaking heavily in the bag and eventually into my wife's cupholder. She basically just started driving then turned right back around. The problem started when she returned to the restaurant and just asked for replacement sauce. She explained what happened and the staff went to talk to the owner, who told her she would need to pay an additional $4 for extra sauce. When she asked to speak to someone, as this wasn't "extra" sauce, the owner, Dave, came out and was immediately combative over this $4.00. it got so heated my wife had to actually pull out her phone to record the interaction, because she couldn't believe it. After this, she said she didn't even want the food anymore and he replied, "sorry, that is already done." We spent $60.00 on dinner for us and this experience has absolutely ruined our night. If you value being treated like a human being, DO NOT DINE AT NYKO'S!

Amazing sushi bar with the freshest ingredients, and many different beef or chicken or pasta entrees to suit anyone's taste! I highly recommend this place! The sushi is the best for MILES around! Our first time today. we are not into sushi so had the "American" dishes. Hubby had grilled Capri with shrimp. And I had the Cordon Bleu. Both were awesome although I have to say that I'll have the Capri next time!!
Our server, Renee, was super friendly and attentive, let us take our time with no rushing. Very pleasant experience!
This is our favorite place for sushi and celebration dinners. The food is always great, servers are always friendly and helpful, and we love to sit on the patio for the amazing view over Johnstown and the Laurel Highlands. Truly a Johnstown gem!

I remember this place. I went years ago with a friend of mine... it was before my daughter was born.. so more than 9 years ago. She really wanted to go, so I just tagged along. We were in the bar section and there was a few high class people talking amongst themselves. They overheard me telling my friend that I didn't want to try sushi. They offered to buy me some and kept insisting on trying it... and I kept telling them... NO. I guess it fell on deaf ears because lo and behold, I was given sushi to try. My friend gobbled hers up and I tried to not be rude and ate one. When they asked if I liked it, I said it wasn't for me and I thanked them for the sushi. The owner heard what I said and his exact words were... "I'm sure you put other things in your mouth." What is that supposed to mean? My friend had her mouth open in shock and I couldn't believe that someone who owns a business would even say something like that to his customers. Very inappropriate. So, if you don't like something, be prepared for the insults.
