Service was very friendly but exceedingly slow. The popovers did not meet up to my fond memories from lovely lunches from years past. The starter chicken broth tasted right out of the can. Strange start. The cauliflower on my roasted vegetable entree tasted of being too long in water as did the quinoa. The fries on my granddaughter's meal were overly peppered (making them inedible for her) and tasted as if they had been reheated not freshly fried. Next time I'll go to Panera for a freshly prepared and tasty meal. The ambiance is not much different.

Everything was terrific except the popovers, which my grandchildren look forward to. They were cold and must have been sitting there a while as they crumbled with every attempt to break off a piece. The server said they were fresh but brought us new, more delicious ones.

The food experience was good, but the service were really very poor. I felt like being a burden instead of a guest. Sorry it should have been something more than a caffetteria experience

The menu options are varied. I love going there for lunch. It takes me back to the times when shopping in department stores for holiday outfits was a special occasion. Lunch at NM or Wanamaker was a treat.

The salad was great. The service super slow. There were only 3 tables. I told my waitress I was in a hurry. When she brought my food I asked for check right away. It took at least 10 min. Then I gave her cash yo pay for the check. On way back she stopped at one of the tables and was speaking to a client. I'm trying to wave her down to bring my change back and not once did she look my way. This would be great place for lunch if the service was faster.

I have eaten at this cafe 100's of times and have never been disappointed. This visit was terrible. I had the finger sandwiches at the NM Cafe in McLean, VA a week earlier and they were exceptionally good so I ordered them at this cafe. The bread was stale, the tuna was strong and in huge chunks. The egg salad and the chicken salad were not edible. The chef needs to contact the cafe in McLean and get the right recipe. Also, the cafe is usually crowded but there were only a few people dining so maybe others have had a similar experience.

A lovely light filled space, even though it overlooks a parking lot, with comfy seating and modern decor. Our server was great but the hostess might as well have not been working. It took 5 minutes for her to come out to the hostess stand to seat us when exactly two tables were full.

Absolutely wonderful! My husband loved his chicken broth and popover so much! He had never before enjoyed the NM dining experience. My shaved salad was so beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. Hard to find such freshness midwinter. A delightful experience.

I usually ABSOLUTELY love NM Cafe (FKA Zodiac). In fact, I would say that I am a regular. However, on this occasion the service was incredibly slow. While my server was friendly and good - she had too many tables to cover. I had to wait for a long time for my bill (in fact had even put my coat on). The server said that the hostess was going to bring the bill ..... when she finally came, she handed my bill to me without a word and without a smile (she seemed out out). Argh. I ordered the Crab Louie for lunch. The portion was much smaller than usual. Come on Neiman Marcus! You are better than this.

Food was cold. I had to ask for ketchup and a diet soda 5 times. The waitress was horrible. It was a huge disappoint. I was mortified as I was taking someone out for liunch. The $27 crab cake sandwich was cold. It took half and hour for it to come to the table!

Food wasn't what I had remembered. Everything was very plain, beloved popovers were over cooked and service was slow for it being not crowded. Disappointed at what used to be a favorite trip.

I was so looking forward to dining at NM Cafe. I took my mother-in-law for a special outing. We both ordered lattes and they were both luke warm and not overly flavorful. I had the Frittata and it was a bit overcooked and luke warm. My mother-in-law seemed to enjoy her quiche but commented that it was just luke warm. Even if the food were wonderful, it was way overpriced.

I have gone to the café at Neiman Marcus (previously called Zodiac) for years and it was always a very enjoyable experience. Great food and a quieter atmosphere, whether alone or with friends. This past time, the quality of the food declined significantly. The crabcake salad actually had a crabcake “patty” on top about the size of an English muffin half. It tasted a little fishy and the dressing provided was bland - Certainly not worth the price. The cheesecake I ordered for dessert was covered in chocolate, which was not described on the menu and was fair quality. Lunch for two with no alcohol (same entree) was about $100. I do not see myself returning to the restaurant, nor would I recommend it to friends going forward. I am sad to see it go...I expected better from Neiman Marcus.
