Very bland Hibachi. Used to Sakura and in comparison Taku has underseasoned and tough meat. Rice and noodles left a lot to be desired. Calamari was one of the worst calamari dishes I've had. The best part of our meal was the shrimp tempura roll which was excellent.

Im just leaving this establishment and Im honestly disappointed. Ive come here twice before and today the service was not up to par. Myself and my son were seated at a hibachi table just the two of us. The waited came over and took our drink order. Shortly after a couple comes in and is seated next to us. The waiter comes back and starts taking their drink orders and ask if they want appetizers then takes our appetizer order. After that it was like the waited forgot me and my son were sitting there. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills or dessert. He asked the couple if they were there for a special occasion but never asked us. He would come over ask if they need anything, only look at them, and then walked away without acknowledging my son and I to the point I had to say “Excuse me, we are here too” and then I asked for a cup of ice for my son. I had to also ask for the check after he only came to see if the couple needed anything else. It made the whole energy at the table awkward. He then comes back to get the check, grabs both, but I had to tell him I hadn’t paid yet. They bring out the dessert for the couple to sing happy birthday to the husband. He then asked if my son was finished eating with half his food still on the plate and I said we needed a box. He came back with the box and after I put my sons food in the box he cleared his plate and my plate too but I wasn’t finished eating. When I finally gave him check I politely let him that it may not have been intentional but I felt my son and I were ignored almost the entire time. He made excuses saying he was speaking to the whole table but he never looked at us at all unless I asked him a direct question. After I pay the $87 check with a $20 tip he comes back and offers us a the same cake he gave the couple. We accepted because my so. Would like it, but I didn't want cake. I wanted to be treated like me and my son weren’t invisible and my money mattered. Its a shame because we liked this place before but I don't think Ill be returning.

I have been going to Taku for a little over a year now and this review is WAYYYY overdue!
Nhan is by far my favorite KOP (and beyond) bartender! Not only are her drinks the best around (lemon drop martini is especially on point) but she also remembers me when I come in and remembers what drink I get and how I like it! What service!
Food is always solid with portions for leftovers!
I recommend Taku and Nhan to all my co-workers and everyone I know bc it’s so great!

Hibachi was amazing and a fun time. Able to accommodate my mom who got her hibachi without soy sauce.

This place was nice and clean. I like the sashimi, was super fresh and delicious! Rice and noodles were a good portion too.
Service was really slow though, we had to keep asking for things. It was loud, but that’s expected at a hibachi spot. Fun to watch the food being cooked in front of us, but our chef didn’t do any tricks, which was a little disappointing since other tables looked like they were having so much fun.
Overall, good food, fun vibe, but could definitely improve on service and consistency in the chef experience. Still a decent night out!

I typically don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at this wonderful restaurant. My sister and I visited for her birthday yesterday, and it was truly a memorable occasion. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special, and I genuinely appreciated their kindness. The food was exquisite, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I left with a full heart and a satisfied appetite! I can't wait to return and create more cherished memories here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place—10/10 stars! Also, our hibachi chef was so fun and engaging! No mistakes on his end, I will make sure to request him every time!

The food was terrible, all of my food was burnt. I ordered combo B my scallops were black! We ordered appetizers and no one would take the plates. I had to ask them to remove finished food plates. No refills on sodas and when I asked for one then didn’t even put ice in it.
No one cared to check in on how we were doing or see if we needed anything.
The staff is miserable no hi welcome or anything. We had a reservation and I had to tell the hostess because she just grab menus and said this way

A pretty decent restaurant.
Ordered california rolls, fire island rolls, udon soup and stir fried shrimp udon.
California rolls were fresh but pretty standard.
Udon soup and stir fry was good.
Fire island roll was amazing! Will return for their specialty sushi for sure!
Oscar helped us and was really nice (apologies if we misspelled the name).
Staff is definitely really kind and hospitable!
Good experience!

I have been to many Japanese steakhouse style restaurants over the years in various states of the US (a typical American style Japanese steakhouse). This place has the typical ambiance and style of a Japanese Steakhouse. The entertainment aspect of it was nearly identical to what you would see anywhere else.
The food is where it was more than a bit different. This is either an extremely Americanized version of this style of restaurant or something that is typical to Pennsylvania that I'm unaware of. Everything was practically swimming in teriyaki and I mean *everything* from meat to veggies to rice/noodles had copious amounts of teriyaki used after the soy sauce. This made everything very sweet, sickeningly so for me. While some people may enjoy that, it's definitely not for me.
If I were only rating the food on what I like I would have rated it very poorly. That said, when I expressed that I would prefer if they didn't pour (an entire bottle of) teriyaki on it for me, they did not add any to my food. All of our party's food was cooked to perfection - steak to requested temperature/doneness level and still good. This is why, despite my preferences, they still get 3 stars on food because they did a good job and they adapted smoothly to preference.
If you aren't used to a ton of teriyaki on your food, you may want to know ahead of time that it's a thing so you can request something right away so you don't find out after half your dinner is already cooked.
