Bistro 174 is a fantastic restaurant with great service and a very quaint, small venue. The atmosphere is nice, though some table lighting is very dark. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. Portions are really large, so come hungry.
The food is excellent, freshly made, and very, very good. For appetizers, the great calamari, meatballs, lamb chops, French onion soup, and brussel sprouts are all flavorful and excellent, with large portions to share. Entrees include delicious options like the Italian pot roast, chicken and dumplings, drunken chicken parm, Ahi tuna, crab stuffed risotto, Greek salmon, short rib, and stuffed pork chop. The strawberry cobbler is the best dessert. Great cocktails and a great martini with blue cheese stuffed olives complement the meal. It is the spot for a date night or a nice dining venue, better than most at its price range, and worth another visit.
