Fantastic restaurant and service. Great calamari and meatballs for starters. Really large portions so come hungry. Italian pot roast, chicken and dumplings, and lamb chops were all delicious options. Great cocktails. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went for the first time a few weeks ago. The food was absolutely incredible, but the service felt brusque and unwelcoming. Our waitress came across as condescending and kind of rude, and I was repeatedly asked if I needed a box while I was still eating, which made me feel rushed. The atmosphere was clean but very boring. That said, we still tipped her well, though it wasn’t what we felt she deserved based on the service. I would definitely recommend it for the food, but next time I’ll opt for takeout.

You Need To Know? Arrived at 5:30 with reservations & we were seated immediately. Small venue that was very quaint. We were taken care of immediately. We had the lamb chops & French onion soup as our appetizer. Both were very flavorful & excellent. For dinner we had the pot roast, drunken chicken parm, & the Ahi tuna. Every dish was fabulous in taste & definitely worth another visit. If you're looking for a spot for a date night or a nice dining venue, then Bistro 174 is THE spot! Now You Know! -TBH

Nice atmosphere. Good food and decent prices, I think, for the food served. The brussel sprouts were amazing and there are lots of them in the appetizer so plan to share with the whole table. Hubby and I had the short rib and it was excellent. Others at the table had the stuffed pork chop and lamb chops and both were also good. I took off stars for the atmosphere only because the table lighting was way, way too dark. Some tables had chandeliers over them while others did not. Aside from this, all agreed the restaurant was better than most at this price range and we would return.

Our neighbors introduced us to Bistro 174 a couple weeks ago. The restaurant is lively, and more importantly serves great food. That being said, we returned to Bistro this evening & all I can say is “Delicious”. My wife had Italian Pot Roast, fork tender w/ mashed pots & heirloom carrots. I had Nori Tuna. Both dishes were generous portions, and cooked to perfection. The Bistro is a go to place. Oh I forgot to mention it’s Thursday and restaurant was packed. We actually saw a couple we ran into this past Sunday. We must be on the same rotation of restaurants.

My wife and I were in the Kingston area for our Anniversary and decided to try out Bistro 174. My wife got a chicken Alo Alex special and I had the Filet. Everything was incredible! The food selection was unique and everything was just magnificent. We will have to make a trip to the area more often and come back!

The Hidden gem of Kingston. Fabulous dinner for a date night we’re just getting together with friends. The bartender makes amazing drinks. The chicken and dumplings is not a dish to be overlooked. It is our absolute favorite dish on the menu. Everything they have to offer on their menu is chef prepared to ultimate satisfaction. You absolutely cannot go wrong dining at this restaurant. Thumbs up 100% you will love it!
