Last night was “all-you-can-eat“ crab night. This was our first visit, so we were not prepared to do anything like that, but the restaurant was packed with people who were. My first impression of the place was very favorable. We started with the calamari. We really liked it very much. It was flash fried and served in an Asian sauce. Very nice. My wife had a cocktail, which was done really well.

For dinner, my wife had the crab cakes and I had the seafood pasta. The crab cake was wonderful. My wife tried to steer me to that, but I didn’t bite for some reason but I should’ve listened. Instead, I went for the seafood pasta which was pretty bad. The shrimp and the scallops were cooked very nicely and flavored well. The pasta, however, was in a cream sauce that was as thick as motor oil, as well as flavorless. I tried to eat it, but I couldn’t. The staff were very, very busy doing crab refills for people, so I didn’t bother saying anything.

The ambience was amazing. The service was spotty because the servers were busy crab-refilling people, and their stations seemed to be spread out. I used to be a waiter so I could tell what was going on. I didn’t see my server much. Perhaps they were understaffed.

All in all, this is actually a good review with one bad dish. I will definitely be going back, but I won’t be ordering any pasta. I would’ve given this place five stars where not for the pasta dish being basically inedible.

My husband and I were in for dinner this evening. Everything was absolutely amazing. He got my prime rib I got the 6 ounce filet. Cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Will definitely be back

Non-smoking, clean bathrooms, highly recommend that you make reservations when they have their fabulous specials (that can be found on Facebook). Jill was our server, and she was fabulous. They have seasonal cocktails, and the view over looks the river in Kittanning. They also have an outdoor patio that they have comedy night on. If you have room after dinner, enjoy their desserts. You will love the atmosphere it's a bonus to the whole experience. There are parking meters out front. After 4 pm, the parking is free.

Kid-friendliness: Yes, our 3 year grandson likes the kid menu. Our 7 month old granddaughter will enjoy the kids menu too

We were celebrating our 20th anniversary at the Meredith. Our server started out well with us. Our food was mediocre compared to the other times we have been there in the past. Decent, but not worth coming back for. A different server refilled my husband's drink, we had to ask for my drink to be refilled. No one asked how our meal was. Once we saw our server again, we asked for a dessert menu and a box for our food. He finally returns, reads it off quickly and we immediately decide we will not stay and ask for our check. The table next to us had a different server, she described the dessert menu which made us want to have dessert; however, when our server seemed to be inconvenienced sharing the menu with us, we didn't want to stay. He leaves our bill at our table and takes so long to to return we take it to the hostess station. At the hostess station they stared at us like what are we supposed to do? They asked who our server was, we tell them, they said, "oh he has a party of 16 he is stressed.". We replied, "we noticed." He came and ran our payment and we left unimpressed and extremely disappointed.

We were there to celebrate a special event which was a 12 yr anniversary of my mother receiving a kidney from my brother. We go some where different every year and the Meredith Inn did not disappoint! Thank you for a lovely evening!

From July 27 this year. Great Atmosphere. However most food was just average compared to our last time there(which was 1 or 2 years earlier). For example the crab cake was not nearly as good. And the worst part is that our table (3 parties of 2) all double-tipped as we weren't aware of the automatic gratuity and the waitress never mentioned it (so her tip probably exceded 175 for our table). Probably wouldn't make that 75 minute drive again for it.
