Organic, both vegetarian and vegan options, and simply incredible scratch made food! You will have a longer wait than expected, so plan patience. It's worth the wait! Paul and Sara do a fantastic job! I love the quaint feel of the dining space. I wish they could expand because they clearly have a great thing going! Paul handed out free bottles of hot sauce and ice cream samples during our wait! EVERYTHING is delicious! The kombucha on tap was incredible too!

Nice takeout option while in Kutztown. We got tempeh Reuben sandwiches. I would have preferred rye bread to the hamburger bun, but it was satisfying, along with the included pickle and chips.

You have to give these girls credit for doing this. It’s the only vegan ? game in town. Delicious blue cheese mushroom quinoa burger. Wait from order to eat was 30 minutes. They didn’t have any seitan cheesesteaks that was on the menu board. Burgers came without potato chips because they ran out. We were offered coffee as a substitute but we declined. Annoying window washers. We came a few years ago but never went inside because the same window washers were there. Get rid of the window washers during business hours. They deter customers from coming inside. GPS drops you a block behind and then it’s a hunt to find the hive sign and the entrance. From Saucony Alley you enter the parking lot going in the wrong way. Needs more accommodating (comfy) atmosphere inside. (Try habitat for humanity restore in the Walmart shopping center in Temple, pa for cheap furnishings). Most burgers $13. Hire more cooks for faster service or get a flat grill and cook all the burgers at once for increased volume and profits. Have all the onions, mushrooms, etc cut ahead of time. Best of luck. Vegans are proud and looking for a place to hang out and meet like individuals. Make big signs that say Vegan ?. Turn the lights on so it doesn’t look like you are closed. Tables are too small to have plants on them. Need bigger sign out front with arrows to the entrance. Play some nice palatable low volume music. Not sure why it’s called hive. No association to anything. Rename it ‘Vegan ? Burgers’. Get rid of the metal pans for serving and have some forks for when everything falls off the burger.

Admittedly this is not my typical place and I had to try something new when my wife decided to order and I was hungry. That said, I ordered the atomic burger and felt compelled to leave a review because it was delicious. If you enjoy spicy foods I'd recommend it. The bun was soft/tasteful and complimented the heat well.

We got the Kimchi Burger, the cheesesteak and the vegan mac and cheese. I think the best thing was the kimchi burger, some places make great food, but this burger makes me want to come back every weekend and eat it again. So much flavor in every bite. The cheesesteak was good but I wasn't a fan of the tomato sauce on top. The Mac and cheese was good and light. I would consider it more a hawaiian Mac salad from a plated lunch. Than, good old 'Merican Mac and cheese, but honestly I'd eat it again.

Recently ate here for the first time while visiting a loved one at Kutztown U. Tried to go last time I was up, but it was randomly closed for the weekend. This restaurant has a very cool interior but boutique hours and prices. My pumpkin latte wasn't great, but the food was decent. In conclusion, I liked this restaurant, but trying to find a time when it's open was a challenge and the food was just alright. I probably won't come here again, but I'm glad I got in here this one time. If you're vegan or vegetarian, this place definitely has the most variety in Kutztown.

What a great find! I am not vegetarian but I love local fresh food so I gave this place a try. And what I had was delicious! I had the (veggie) burger with blue cheese and mushrooms over greens. The burger itself was packed with flavor and let me feeling full but not too full like some restaurant food does. The mushrooms were perfect with the tangy blue cheese and the greens were as fresh as the ones I pick from my garden!I also tried the oat milk soft serve and was surprised how creamy it was! It was a refreshing treat on a hot day and I enjoyed the hints of flavor from the oat milk and other protein rich ingredients. They staff were super friendly and the atmosphere is adorable. I will definitely be back!

Wow. Let me start by saying I am not a vegetarian but I love locally sourced fresh food. I heard about hive cafe through their hot sauce business and decided to give them a try. Being not familiar with Kutztown I wasn't sure where to park but I parked on the Main Street and cut through to the alley. The building is well marked and is adorable inside. I decided to go with a burger since I really enjoy veggie burgers. I ordered the one with mushrooms and blue cheese (local of course!) and had it served over greens. The burger itself was wonderful - great flavor, texture and with a nice char on it. Probably the best veggie burger I have had. You can tell that it was made from scratch and a lot of thought went into the recipe. The blue cheese and mushrooms were the perfect pairing - adding richness and tang. And finally the greens were so fresh. I realized I ate them all before I had finished the burger because they were so good! The oat milk soft serve was a nice end to the meal. I love ice cream so wasn't sure what to expect from this non-dairy version but o was pleasantly surprised by how creamy and flavorful it was. I'm glad I tried it and would definitely have it again. The two people working were both extremely nice and helpful. I will definitely be back!
