This has quickly become our go to any time we're in Kutztown. The staff is always kind, the craft beer selection is fantastic and the food is fabulous! They have vegetarian and gluten free options, in addition to an amazing menu. We usually have 4-6 people and there's often a wait, but it's so worth it. Plan on $25-35 per person if your table splits appetizers and are light drinkers. There's kids options too. Never a bad meal here!!

Vegetarian options: Best fried pickles I've ever had. Fabulous open face portabella mushroom sandwich. Their polenta with fire roasted veggies is my absolute favorite! Even their streamed broccoli is delicious!

Tourists from New England for the first time and thought going to Kutztown Tavern in Kutztown was the way to go. Ordered the Beer Battered Mozzarella Sticks, I stuck my fork in and it wouldn’t go through. Inside was still completely frozen. Next got the Buffalo Chicken Pasta and the Cuban Panini, was spit out instantly. The pasta was worse than Chef Boyardee and the panini tasted sour. The highlight of the meal was leaving.

We went for an early dinner yesterday and had great food and beer! Seafood Bisque was TO DIE FOR, and all our food was hot, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The bartender was on point--we sat at the bar. We had a great time!

Bartender (Rick) was utterly obnoxious when asked for light ice and how he was mixing my top shelf old fashioned (wanted simple syrup rather than sugar as some make it). I removed the extra ice without complaint and set it on the counter on top of a napkin. Bartender came over flung my menu and threw a fit, then ignored us the rest of the time. Do not recommend for anyone to sit at the bar during his shift.

The place is large and spacious--very comfortable. Service was friendly and very attentive. The food was delicious. We had sandwiches and everything was top-notch from the bread to the contents. The onion rings are made in-house, which is a big thing for me. And the stuffed tater tots were unique and fantastic.

So many brewery pubs these days serve only IPAs and maybe one or two other options, but not here. There were plenty of ales, lagers, stouts, etc. and (as someone who doesn't care for IPAs or sours) I was happy to have so many options. The next time family/friends want to go out and sample beers, Kutztown Tavern is definitely going to be my recommendation

Went here during for dinner on a busy Saturday during Kutztown University Parent Weekend. There was a short wait (expected) but were met with smiles from staff. Great brew pub atmosphere and food did not disappoint. Wait staff was very friendly. Food had lots of flavor and looking forward to going back again.

The food was tasty. I wouldn’t say there was anything special about the menu items; mostly “American Bistro” style standard fare. There are a few regional items that include pretzel rolls, etc. The beer menu, which included house brews on tap was fresh & satisfying. The atmosphere can be loud when crowded.

Parking: Parking on Main Street is hit or miss. There is no parking in front of the building. There is a municipal lot behind the building with a not so fun unsheltered kiosk that sucks to use if it’s raining

Everything was good. I had the meatloaf, it was pretty good. They had a good selection of drinks. Make beer on site, a lot on tap.

The brisket sandwich was very good. The IPA was just okay, but the service was attentive and the place has a nice atmosphere.

Clean facility. Large bar. Good “bar” food. Bartenders serve locals first and are a little too full of themselves for me. They are beer slingers not mixologists so I am not sure of the smugness. Go across the street to K-town for friendlier service or down the road to Sacony or Ozgoods for a better overall experience. If you sort reviews low to high you will read the same reoccurring theme of poor bartenders and overall service. BTW this isn’t new or “post” covid. This is the culture of this business. This establishment has a decade of the same poor service. Went in for the first time in 3-4 years thinking it may have gotten better. I was wrong.
