I stopped at Spuds after a campus tour at Kutztown University and I could not believe how good the hamburger and fries were! First the hamburger, I tried the Boston Lobster special. It was unbelievable! The hamburger was perfectly done (rare) and the pieces of lobster were in a mild cajan sauce and delicious. The cook was not stingy with the lobster - after I finished the hamburger, I found plenty of pieces of lobster that had fallen out of the bun and were hiding amid the fries. How fresh was the lobster? I do not know - but it was delicious! Regarding the fries, I expect to be disappointed when I get fries in a restaurant - they are usually an afterthought. I should have realized from the name of this restaurant that the fries would be equally starring players! I hate to engage in hyperbole, but these might have been among the best fries I have eaten! And the portion was very generous - when I finally marshaled the self-control to push the plate away about half the fries were still there! The ambiance is old, comfortable hamburger joint. It is hard not to feel comfortable there. Regarding service, a young man wearing a Kutztown Baseball tee shirt took our order and delivered our food. He was friendly and polite. Stop at Spuds when you are in Kutztown, you will not be disappointed!

Food was good but took forever to get food. When food was brought out only one of us got our food. We ordered the same thing and kitchen did not see that the order was for two of same thing.

Not much to say - every time I eat here I get a burger - they are that damn good. Fries are decent too, but have never wandered away from the burger as the main reason I am there. They make it your way - and the result is always fantastic. If you like burgers, you owe it to yourself to eat here.

Amazing specials. This is not just a burgers and fries place. Make sure to check the 5 specials of the week every Monday. You never know what they are going to have. My favorite past specials include salmon salad, Mac and cheese with stewed tomatoes, Asian noodle bowl, egg salad sandwich, and many different inventive cheese steaks.
