I sent the following email directly to J.D. Stinson on 1/5/25 but never received a response:
Hi J.D.
I would have written a review on Google but unfortunately, there are no "0" star ratings.
My wife and I ate at the tavern last night and the food was absolutely disgusting.
We both had a bowl of the Manhattan clam chowder, which was basically, a bowl of grease- which I can't believe we were charged $12 each for. I had the roast pork sandwich, which had no flavor, other than a bitter taste. The roll was so saturated that it fell apart. My wife had the caprese sandwich, which also had no taste, other than the bread which tasted like it was soaked in sugar. However, what really infuriated me was that I was charged a 4% credit card fee when I used my debit card to pay for the bill, which your merchant services provider charges you 1% for.
In summary, I paid $80 for slop.
Me, my wife, children, family, and friends have all eaten at the tavern many times in the past and have never had a bad meal. Perhaps you have changed chefs recently? I never waste my time writing reviews so for me to take my time to reach out to you, speaks of how horrible the food was.
Have a good day.
I was attempting to address my issue amicably before posting a public review. I assume they do not care about feedback from long term patrons by their lack of concern.

Zero service , if zero stars was an option I would choose that. Bad restaurant, horrible service, buyer beware, choose another restaurant. Blatantly not serving members of the tribe. Avoid at all costs.

Sat down and waited 20 min to be greeted by no one. Several tables sat after us got waited on. No one acknowledged us so we left. It was 2:30 pm and not busy.

My family and I tried to go here and they shooed us away since we have small kids. There were plenty of tables open and they said there was no availability. Poor customer service and we felt very discriminating against

Really disappointing experience overall. Service at the host station was nice. Cool place too, but that's about where the positives ended. The food seems like the chef is trying too hard with the flavors. The pork sandwich seemed to be of reasonable quality, but had a very strange flavor undertone that was very off-putting. I also ordered "jazz" for my fries which consisted of buffalo sauce. The buffalo sauce might be the worst I've ever tried, absolutely inedible. I'm not sure what the flavor was, but it was pervasive and extremely underwhelming. One in our party also ordered the BLT Chopped salad which was also an extremely strange combination of flavors that really didn't work together. The table service was just OK at-best. This was an expensive lunch that left us seriously disappointed overall. I'm assuming that the nature of the Peddler's Village area means they don't need much repeat business, lots of new faces that will continue eating here, maybe I can prevent some of that with this review? Do yourself a favor and another restaurant in the area.

Came in with my family and was not given good service. The waitress was very rude and had an attitude. Took a long time to get her attention and she never came by.

If it wasn't for our server and the ambience, I would rate this place a zero... Food was disgusting and to charge $15 for a burger that was better in high school! The fries if you call them that were inedible. I should have walked out as soon as our food hit the table. No thought or presentation just a bunch of slop. What a waste of a beautiful tavern and $50 on lunch.

The food was awful. I was so surprised and upset. I honestly don't know how they stay in business especially in such a nice area.

We really can’t rate the food since we never got seated. We waited at the hostess stand for 13 minutes before someone even addressed us. We did make eye contact and smiled at several wait staff. When the host finally approached us he said there weren’t any tables that could accommodate us but we could sit at the bar. I counted four four tops and one two top that our party of two could have been seated. This was at 7:46 PM, the website said they were opened until nine. We opted to leave and go to Porter House Pub across Lower State Road (202) which was fabulous. We felt sorry for the three teenagers waiting behind us to be seated since they couldn’t eat at the bar they were turned away. Horrible customer service.

Four of us visited and had drinks at the bar. The bartender made us feel welcome and comfortable.
It was my first time there, and the people were nice enough, even if it was a 30 minute wait for a table, but I got a ham sandwich on toast instead of a turkey sandwich on a brioche bun. And my silverware was just a knife wrapped in a dirty napkin, so I had to ask for a replacement. And to boot, they took my full to-go hot chocolate while I was in the restroom. I just don't think I can go back if that's the first impression.

The menu needs to be enhanced. We went there for 15 plus years. The had a French Dip roast beef sandwich which was amazing. Think they need to add this and a few other items on to their menu. We miss going there.
