Overall Altana was a vibe. Loved the atmosphere #rooftop They were out of two items we were craving (burger and grilled cheese) but life goes on. The food we did get was good. 8/10 espresso Martini but still bomb! Only drawback- seating was tooooo close with another high top table. (You get two conversations for the price of one). Altana is a good time though!
This was our first visit to the restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Although the cold weather prevented us from using the terrace, we were seated on the third level by the window, which turned out to be a wonderful option. The area is covered/roofed, very well decorated/ambiented, and the view is simply incredible. The service is what truly sets this place apart. The waiters were superb, always attentive and ensuring we lacked nothing, but without being intrusive—a perfect balance. The food was high quality, showcasing creativity in the appetizers: the fried avocado and the crab meatballs were excellent, as was the onion soup (prepared in a way that doesn't leave a strong aftertaste). For the main course, my Baby Ribs and my wife's filet cut (chef's recommendation) were cooked to perfection. We finished with the cheesecake dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the drinks (the 'The Woods' cocktail and the mojito). I highly recommend this place for its ambiance, gastronomic quality, and, above all, its impeccable service.
The entire experience was delightful however the occasional motorcycle roar from the street below interrupted conversation.
Excellent drink menu and wine list. The pork chop and the salmon stuffed crab were both outstanding. Will definitely return
Worst dining experience in any city in the last 20 years. There for special occasion dropping my son off at college. Server actually forgot to enter our main course order in the computer. About 20 minutes after we finished the appetizers, the server came back to “confirm” the entree orders, which was a ruse. 10 minutes after that, he came back to tell us the kitchen just ran out of the cod entree my son had ordered — which would not have happened if our orders had been entered 40 minutes prior, when the server actually took them from us. Took TWO HOURS for our entrees to be brought out. They had taken our silverware when they cleared the appetizers from the table, so after two hours of waiting for our entrees, we had to sit there and stare at the food for another 15 minutes because they never brought new silverware. I had to go to the hostess station myself and get silverware for the table. The salmon entrees were insultingly small, only 2 ounces. Over the course of two hours waiting for our food, we observed other salmon entrees being brought to adjacent tables, and the portion sizes were shrinking as the night went on. It was clear that after having run out of the cod entree, the restaurant was also running out of salmon and was cheating the customers by reducing the portion sizes to stretch the “inventory.” We raised these issues with our server. All he did was say “sorry.” No effort whatsoever to make things right with the check, with the food, or otherwise. No visit from the manager. Nothing. They ruined our last evening with our son and couldn’t have cared less.

We have visited Altana on many occasions and the food and drink are always absolutely delicious. We have never been disappointed. Also, the host, especially on our most recent visits has been such a gentleman and it shows he truly cares about his job. The only complaint I have is that they pretty consistently start trying to get you to leave around an hour before close. We like a late dinner, around 8pm (this week we were trying to catch the 8:15 sunset) and pretty much every time, we’ve been warned about an hour before close (9pm) that they are “about to close.” We never intend to stay past close but we do like to enjoy a drink and a chat after dinner. I totally respect the staff and would always leave well before close. They are not super pushy but the warning makes you feel like you need to down your drink and run. If you eat earlier, I’m sure you will have no issues whatsoever. Excellent food and customer service on the front end. Bartenders make the most perfect drinks.
This was the 2nd time we at here and both times we received great service and the food was very good.
I went here for the first time tonight with some friends for a birthday get together. Will NEVER go again! Our waiter was young but he charged our table for a glass of wine we didn’t order, one Shirley temple we didn’t order and we had two plates of food brought to us before we even ordered at all!! Also the music all sounded the same and there was a creepy host who made me very uncomfortable in the elevator to the rooftop. Overall I had fun with my friends because I was with them. Our experience took 2 and a half hours! We waited for the check for 45 minutes. Also very expensive for no reason and 3/4 of the menu is just alcohol. Truly disappointing

It is without doubt that I highly recommend the dining experience at Altana Rooftop Lounge. Every aspect of the evening dining experience was top quality and I cannot wait to return.
Very quiet atmosphere, which we like, I didn't feel like I had to yell at my wife to her for her to be able to hear me. it rained so the rooftop was not open, but that gave us an excuse to come back again. Very small menu because it's a bar/lounge, but the food was very good. My wife and I do not drink alcohol, they had one of the best mocktails. we both agreed, It was the pineapple, orange, ginger non alcoholic. we had two entrées, 3 separate mock tails, dessert and our bill was only $81. That is not bad at all in our opinion. we will definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.
Food good but was here 4 work.

We were on elevator laughing and having a good time and some man got on he was an employee and said to us very nasty whatever your smoking sober up fast. I said it’s called life we are living and having a good time and guess what we are sober ! He then went to roof top to a table and pointed at us and said something then stood at the hostess stand staring at us. We got up and left. He is a creep and shouldn’t accuse anyone of smoking anything it’s just called enjoying life try it sometime jerk ! We had a blast once we left there !
The portions are good. The food is so delicious. We got ceasar salad. - it was very good and they had a bit of garlic in it which was perfect. Grilled cheese and tomato soup. - that was so delicious. Together especially when you dip the grilled cheese into soup. Very crunchy. The sweet potatoes were a bit too sweet but maybe for someone’s liking. The view is beautiful.
