I just love this restaurant. Whenever Iβm feeling like ordering something this is my go to. They have a vegan platter and other vegan options you can get as a side. The food is very reasonably priced and always makes me feel full.
delicious and authentic tasting.
The owner stayed open late for is and mad us a giant vegan meal for five. All deliscious
If youβve never had Ethiopian food before do not be afraid of trying Awash. The food and service was excellent in a nice, relaxing environment.
Three of us ordered different entrees that all came on a large platter with injera flatbread. We did a mix-and-match and everything was delicious!
We are fortunate to have such a gem of a restaurant in Lancaster.
Food was very good the waiter was friendly. I love the coffee. We chose the combo and selected to communal plate. It was great experience to learn about a different culture and enjoy delicious food.

The Ethio special Kitfo is soooo delicious and L1 lamb tibs and beef Tibs. If youβre vegan they have many varieties like C1-c3
The Ethiopian Restaurant (Awash) on Dillerville Road is a wonderful gem of tasty, authentic cuisine, friendly service, with a lovely mellow vibe. Their combo specials provide portions of many of their savory and tasty dishes- different types of lentils, veggies, and meat dishes (you can get combos without meat if you like), and the fruit combo drink with mango, strawberry, and avocado is sooooooo good. π€πΌ
If you've not tried Ethiopian cuisine before, please note that you enjoy the food using your hands and scooping it with Enjera- the traditional, sour, flat sponge bread made of teff (grain). The savory, spicy, sour, and milder multilayered flavors make the food incredibly delicious- it's just so nutritious and satisfying- I highly recommend them! π―ππΌ
Awesome experience! The atmosphere was amazing and the food was delicious. Will definitely return!
The waiter/cook was very friendly. It was one of our first times trying Ethiopian food, and it was delicious! I recommend the Beef Tibs.

The food here is amazing, the people are friendly and the service is excellent. If you've never had Ethiopian food before, I highly recommend trying it!
The food was delicious but meat serving size was a joke. I ordered 2 chicken combo and 1 beef combo. The lentil and vegetables consisted of 3 combos but the meat was only enough for one service at most! They also mixed the chicken and beef into a single pile. I recommend in the future to ask for 3 separate serving plates.
Also, the waiter mixed up my order a number of times. I was also charged for taking bottles of honey mead even when I told the waiter I would leave them! I believe part of issue is communication with the staff which may not be a language barrier, thus not entirely the staffs fault.
I have had Ethiopian food in Baltimore and LA before, the serving size was significantly larger for comparable prices.
We attended last night as a group of 3 and everything was amazing from the authentic atmosphere to the incredible food to the cheerful staff. Can't wait to go back again!
I've never had Ethiopian before and this was a great first place to try it! The injera is made in house and the vegetarian combo I had was amazing! Definitely do some research into the cuisine before you come though, because this is not a traditional American dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back!
Forgot half of our order. Then they acted like they were doing us a favor when they corrected our order. 2 of us got sick from the food. Never again. Disgusting service and food. This used to be a nice place. It's horrible now!
