The food was zero star. No flavor on the meat tibs and the veggies. The whole family couldn’t chew the meat. Even if you chew it for 5 minutes you won’t succeed in breaking it down. Hospitality and atmosphere was good. If you’re a foreigner and never ate traditional Ethiopian or Eritrean food you don’t know any better. But a Habesha that grew up eating good Habesha food can not like this. If you’re go to silver spring, dc or Virginia you’ll see the difference is night and day

Lancaster is lucky to have this gem...Very delicious authentic Ethiopian food. The owner was very nice and served us a large sharing platter, as my friend and I ordered differently and could share..the bread was very good, using it to scoop up the food. I ordered lamb tibs, served with cabbage and potatoes, yellow, green and red lentils, green beans and carrots..a hearty amount of food, my friend ordered the chicken, with similar sides..
There were 2 hand washing stations to wash up before eating..the restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful items from Ethiopia..I highly recommend this restaurant.

After being introduced to Ethiopian food last year, we were excited to discover an Ethiopian restaurant closer to home. This restaurant is wonderful! Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly.

Delicious! Really enjoyed our meal! We live in an Ethiopian food desert about an hour away and we made a special trip, worth it!

The best food and ambience. My family and I have been coming here for years and it’s the absolute best Ethiopian food we’ve had (and we have tried Ethiopian food in many different cities)! Love it here!!

Awash Ethiopian Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone craving incredible Ethiopian food. The owners create a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. During our visit, we indulged in Doro Wot, a succulent chicken dish simmered with onions, spicy berbere, garlic, and ginger, paired perfectly with a boiled egg. We also enjoyed Kitfo, which features finely ground prime beef expertly spiced with Mitmita, a flavorful hot pepper, served alongside vibrant collard greens and homemade Ethiopian cottage cheese. To top it all off, we savored the best Ethiopian coffee. I can’t recommend Awash highly enough; it’s an experience you don't want to miss!

We hosted a birthday celebration for my father at Awash with family and friends, and it was a special evening. The restaurant is beautiful, warm, inviting, and perfect for gathering. It’s hard to find great Ethiopian food outside of the DMV area, but the food here was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made hosting our event even more meaningful. Thank you for the delicious food and for making us feel so at home!

I just love this restaurant. Whenever I’m feeling like ordering something this is my go to. They have a vegan platter and other vegan options you can get as a side. The food is very reasonably priced and always makes me feel full.
delicious and authentic tasting.
The owner stayed open late for is and mad us a giant vegan meal for five. All deliscious
If you’ve never had Ethiopian food before do not be afraid of trying Awash. The food and service was excellent in a nice, relaxing environment.
Three of us ordered different entrees that all came on a large platter with injera flatbread. We did a mix-and-match and everything was delicious!
We are fortunate to have such a gem of a restaurant in Lancaster.
Food was very good the waiter was friendly. I love the coffee. We chose the combo and selected to communal plate. It was great experience to learn about a different culture and enjoy delicious food.
