I stopped in for lunch and had an excellent experience. After a long week, I wanted a place to relax and unwind, and Bert & The Elephant was the perfect choice. Bert was welcoming, friendly, and personable, which made me feel like more than just another customer. My server was polite and attentive, the beer was great, and the food was delicious. The café has a warm, laid-back atmosphere that makes it an ideal spot to enjoy a good beer and meal. The beer I had might just be my new #1 favorite ever.

Ever since Bert moved downtown, I’ve somehow managed to miss this place. Today, after about a year, I finally made it back for a quick lunch. The poutine was amazing! I love how they serve the gravy separately, so you can either dip your fries and cheese curds in it or dump it all over them. The gravy had a rich, delicious taste with a hint of garlic and pepper. I definitely plan to come back again!

We first came to Bert & the Elephant looking for a venue to host our wedding welcome event. We immediately fell in love with the food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere and knew it was the perfect place to celebrate with our family and friends. Bert and Kathie took amazing care of us every step of the way and we are so thankful for the amazing memories we have at this beautiful spot! We rented the patio space with a private bar and buffet and everything was perfect. We will definitely be back (often) and can't recommend Bert & the Elephant enough, for large events or a fun night out!

I really wanted to come into the reviews to say the owner - I’m assuming Bert, created the most hospitable and enjoyable solo dining experience for a solo female traveler like myself.
