Another delicious lunch. The food was consistently good as always. Kayla is always fun, attentive and wonderful.
The menu selection and preparation was, as always, perfect. We had three generations at lunch, and each found something wonderful from the menu. Everyone delighted in the dessert options from the bakery case. Our out-of-town visitors were charmed and impressed. The bathroom was disappointingly dirty with no hook for a bag. Our server had exceptionally long nails with embellishments that did not appear sanitary.
Rosie was wonderful. Excellent multi type bread service with more than enough for all of us. Mussels and fries weee a great appetizer. The onion soup was tremendous. All delivers in a relaxed, appropriately staged approach. Salmon was seated perfectly. Escargot were delightful. The boulabaise was excellent. And...the desserts were fabulous—the floating meringue island was unbelievable. We try to visit whenever we are in Lancaster—we live 2 hours away.
Really enjoy the experience here, but the food is not as good as before, for example the pork chop was quite tough and the scallops and risotto was a bit salty, and the sweet corn soup was not really sweet but more like a south East Asian style soup, so that's why no 5 stars, but definitely this is better than your average restaurant when you factor in the cakes from the backers and baguettes and butter in the bread basket.
My wife and I had a date night. We asked our server about the wine we were interested in and she gave us a taste to help us decide. We ordered the foie gras mousse. It was delicious. Salad Lyonnaise which was well dressed and seasoned. Wife had the pasta feature which was bucatini with a cream pesto and fried Serrano ham. Fantastic meal. I had my go to of steak frites which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the frites were flavorful and plentiful. It was a lovely evening. Bill was $170 which given our food and experience was worth every penny.
We loved what we ordered, however, one of the menu items we wanted was not available. One of the sandwiches was very good, but too much baguette for the amount of meat. The coffee was VERY good, and the pastries/breads were superb.
Barberet Dinner Review I had an outstanding dinner at Barberet that truly captured the essence of French cuisine. I started with the escargot, which was rich, garlicky, and perfectly tender — classic and comforting. For my main course, I went with the steak frites, which was cooked to perfection and served with crisp, golden fries. Simple, flavorful, and exactly what you'd expect from a refined French brasserie. I paired the meal with a Cabernet Sauvignon, which complemented both the butteriness of the escargot and the savory richness of the steak beautifully. The depth and tannins of the wine balanced the meal perfectly. The ambiance was warm, the service was attentive, and the menu delivered classic French flavors with elegance. Highly recommended for a memorable night out.

I took my partner here for a nice meal and it is a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant and bakery. All the food was delicious but the price point was not as yummy! All in all, I would eat there again but just as soon say stick with the Bakery side so your wallet doesn’t cry!
