Please note my update at the end of my message. First few experiences had been positive. Then we dealt with owner and our opinion has greatly changed.
Huge menu to choose from. Large portions. Soup and/or salad comes with all entrees.
All their soups are very good.
Lots of seating and parking. Nice staff.
Can get gift certificates on Clipp.com. Also coupons in the Clipp Magazine.
I am adding another comment since my first review.
Extremely unpleasant experience with Owner of restaurant this evening.
Went to check out with one of my Clipp certificates. I had been using in past. The owner refused to honor it because we didn't get entrees. I showed him the certificate and that there was nothing on it that said we had to use it on an entrée. Even though he acknowledged that there was nothing on gift certificate that indicated entrée he would not honor it. Now on their Clipp.com coupons it does say entrée.
We had to pay cash. I had to contacted Clipp to have the money refunded that I had spent on certificates for the future.
We won't be back.
The fact that the restaurant would not even honor some that was their fault appears to be how the new owners operate.
He could have honored it and just said that in the future it needed to be on entrees.
Also while we were there another table had a complaint and the waitress said she would tell owner. Don't know what was wrong but I do know that the owner would not speak with the people.
Not interested in pleasing customers.

The breakfast was fair but the waffle was undercooked. No refill of coffee was offered. I ordered a take out slice of coconut pie. It was expensive and when I got it home, it was a frozen bought pie from the grocery store that was served thawed and left out it seems. And, it was crumbly because it was dried out! Yes, dry and tasted old as well. Not only that but it was so small for the price. And, I felt sick in my stomach after eating half of it not to be wasteful! But it belonged in the garbage can!! I recognized it as a bought freezer pie having purchased the same from grocery stores! Recommendation- don’t buy their sweets unless you can see them first!

My wife and I have been going there for about a year now because the food is usually really good but the meal today was not the best. The stuffing was soggy and tasted terrible and my wife's sandwich bun was hard as a rock. We pointed it out to the waitress and they said they had complaints before but did nothing else. The proper thing to do would be to give us a little discount on the bill or just offer us a free desert. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

My husband and I have been going to bridgeport weekly for the last 2 years. I work in the restaurant industry and bridgeport USED to be a 10/10 for us. this change in management has been the worst thing to ever happen to such a gem of a place. first, the staff that have been working there for years are fighting to keep up with the changes and witnessing management be rude to staff about small things during what looks to be a busy lunch rush is tasteless. they give little grace. ADDITIONALLY, the atmosphere was very eclectic and family centered. a place you felt at home. REPLACED BY LARGE FLAT SCREENS AND HORRIFIC WOBBLY TABLES. now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the menu and food changes. The menu used to be reasonably priced and honestly the old owners could have even charged more because the quality was stellar. their menu was one sheet with things that they made wonderfully. Since the change in management, the prices went WAY up and the quality went WAY down. the food tastes awful and the new dessert case is an eyesore with smooshed desserts and dry looking pies. i would be happy to pay if the food was actually still good but unfortunately that’s the case. I know that the previous owners retired and great for them, but the new ownership should have never messed up a good thing. We officially won’t be back.

Breakfast was good, service was great. Our first visit since the new ownership. The table we had teetered a lot, and was very annoying. Coffee was constantly spilling. Planning on trying lunch next time. But overall a vast improvement from the previous owners. Price was very affordable as well.
Coffee was strong and good, but not a high end quality, but I had 2 cups, LOL
Go check it out for breakfast sometime.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t very baby/toddler friendly. There was no changing table in the bathroom, and I wasn’t able to get through when I tried calling ahead to ask. I was also disappointed by the new large TVs throughout the restaurant, as I like to take my children to TV free places and it wasn’t the atmosphere I once enjoyed. My omelet came out with the cheese not melted at all—still clearly shredded inside. It wasn’t the atmosphere I enjoyed before, and I don’t plan to return.
