The food was amazing and very simple, which I loved. I just came to Pennsylvania for vacation and I think this place is a great place to eat a good breakfast or even lunch. The waiter was very polite and let us know in advance about their little bee problem and if we had any problems with the bee's we could be seated inside (the bees weren't much of a problem). The food was brought to us in less than 15-16 min, which wasn't long considering the amount of food we ordered (4 people) . Although this place is small and quiet, everything thing was great and deserves some much needed credit.Kid-friendliness: They had some dessert breakfasts, which sounded really good. Like the Nutella and Banana waffles, or even the Belgian waffles with berries. Drink wise, they had a couple of juices to choose from.

This little place won a West Lancaster Jewel award and it is a gem. Menu is amazing, food is delicious. Our Waitress Nadine was cute and pleasant as can be. Seating inside or out. Indoors has a little boutique of handmade items by a local artist. Check this place out!

The only reason this is a two-star and not one is because the hostess was super nice. The food was subpar and the breakfast potatoes were cold. I got the steak benedict which comes with fruit and instead of putting it on the side, it was placed in the benedict sauce and covered. I couldn’t eat any of it.Our server/manager brought our food and never came back until we were completely finished. My wife ordered the sausage and it the flavor was overwhelmed with sage and wanted it switched, but she never came back. You could hear her complaining about guests the entire time we were there just feet away. Such a weird experience.

We made a reservation online over an hour before the time we selected, and they had every 5 minutes available. I called to let them know we were running 5 minutes late and they said they only just got the reservation and hadn’t approved it because they were super busy. They told me that you have to make reservations a day in advance—why have an online reservation system if it’s not accurate of what’s available?

Their service and the food was amazing. We unfortunately did not make a reservation, therefore there were no tables available, but they still found a way to accommodate us. We were in and out within 30 minutes. I ordered an oat milk latte and the ‘breakfast on the farm’ and both came out perfect. I would definitely return!

Very disappointed. My fiancé and I had a romantic weekend in Lancaster and several people recommended Commonwealth to us. We checked out the web site and decided to go to Breakfast on Sunday morning around 10:15-10:30. We walked inside and were excited to try a new place. The two young girls at the front asked if we had reservations and we said no and after they talked and giggled to each other, with a arrogant and ignorant tone informed us that they couldn't seat us. Looking around there was 3 empty tables inside and 1 empty table outside, they don't have very much seating to begin with but about half the restaurant appeared to be empty. We thought we misunderstood and asked how long of wait to be served and after an exaggerated eye roll we were told sternly that they were not going to seat us. My fiancé and I are middle aged and are heavyset and we concluded that we were discriminated against because we didn't fit in with the ultra hipster crowd that were dining there. We will not be back will post reviews everywhere we can and will definitely tell as many people as possible to avoid the commonwealth. Just bad business

Small cafe unique sculpture in front, no clear signage hidden in neighborhood of row houses. Server very nice. Coffee beans locally harvested tho not organic. Chia latte spices were mild and the drink itself overly sweet for me, I don't normally eat sugar unless natural. Soooo I couldn't drink it. Someone else may enjoy it. The s'mores expresso latte was better but, I love good strong coffee so this was an underwhelming experience. The sunshine salad was delicious!!! I loved it and could eat it every day. I loved it was pumpkin seeds instead of nuts. Very Fresh looking ingredients. The chicken and waffles is waffles with a a chicken gravy NOT a whole piece of chicken! It was disappointing to not get a nice piece of chicken. I think if I knew that was the case ahead of time I would have been more okay with it. The waffles were good, nothing special but not bad either: The mushroom truffle grill cheese was good. Tastes as good expected. Make sure you ask for the daily special. They were especially busy so I had the barista serve me who was friendly but he forgot to tell me there were off menu specials. I would have ordered that has I known. It was eggplant stuffed with chicken and veggies with rice. I was really craving a strong morning drink and this place didn't have that for me. I'm visiting so I don't know the spots to go to around here. This was decent for the prices and portions, I'm just used to more strong flavors. My teenage son loved it all. A bill for 4 was about $60 before tip. Service was overall friendly and place clean.

After scrolling through a food app for what seemed like an hour for the perfect brunch for a cold winter day, I suddenly remembered the perfect spot was not far away. Their easy online ordering would be perfect for breakfast in bed... and thoughts of fresh, homemade pop tarts danced in my head. Needless to say, the online ordering and pick up process went smooth. As always, I highly recommend their coffee and breakfast sammies. Do not skip out on the freshly made pop tarts- they are glorious! The staff is extremely friendly and I love they are still taking Covid-19 safety precautions seriously. Definitely check out the southwest end gem!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Commonwealth Kitchen and Cafe My husband came for Monday breakfast before we returned home after a long weekend in Lancaster. We decided to stop here because my husband is vegetarian and they seemed to have great vegan options. We arrived and showed our vaccine card and were immediately sat at our table that we had input in choosing. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We got our drinks which were delicious. I got the marshmallow latte because I have a crazy sweet tooth. It was COVERED in whipped cream, my favorite. Our food was delicious. We shared the avocado toast as a start which was so fresh. I got the Big Ol Breakfast Sandwich: divine. My hubby got the Truffle Mushroom Benedict. He loved the fresh take on a classic. They had a baker in house that made sweet treats daily. We took a coffee cake to go and it was AMAZING! Commonwealth would be so out of this world if they had a cocktail menu for brunch, but it might not fit the overall vibes of the location, so no big deal. If you need a cute place to get some delicious breakfast that's veggie friendly, come to Commonwealth! - Eileen
