If I could give this place NO stars I absolutely would. I can’t adequately put into words how terrible the food was. What was supposed to be a very special night for my aunts 50th birthday turned into a nightmare when we opened the food to serve it. We ordered baked chicken and they gave us grilled chicken strips, even though their website said baked chicken (thighs and drums). We asked for roast beef and were given some sort of stew that had hamburger meat in it, which was terrible. Meatballs were not cooked all the way through and the salmon was VERY dry and smelled fishy. Everything seemed liked they took a short cut and did the bare minimum. As if it was pre packed. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The food was so bad my mom and I were going table to table apologizing for the food because we were so embarrassed. To say we got taken advantage of is an understatement. Do NOT trust this place and take your money elsewhere.

Emily is an absolute "GEM"! We hired her to cater for the Ground's department and volunteers for the US Women's Open at Lancaster Country Club. She brought breakfast and lunch for the crew of 120, everyday for 7 days with a smile on her face and a pep in her step! She was so flexible and we needed that with our ever changing numbers and schedule. I knew I had made the right decision when I called her in a panic on Tuesday explaining our Thursday dinner catering fell through. Without hesitation, she asked what we wanted and what time and she came through with an amazing last minute Italian dinner. My husband‘s family is Egyptian and so I requested something with a Middle Eastern theme and she went beyond my expectations! We first experienced GEMS Catering at a Taste the World Tour and were absolutely floored by how delicious the food we sampled was...some of the VERY BEST Dominican food we ever had...and we've had a lot! So when it came time to choose a Caterer for a Baby Shower for 70 people, there was no question who we wanted to work with...Emily and GEMS. We didn't even interview anyone else. Since I'm originally from the South, I was over the moon when I saw she offered a Soul Food dinner which had everything I would have made if I was cooking it myself...BBQ Chicken, sweet potato casserole, collards, Mac and cheese, corn bread and we added BBQ pork and salad. EVERYONE RAVED ABOUT HOW GOOD THE FOOD WAS!!! And I gotta tell ya, the collards made me slap-happy! Best ever!!! All the food was perfectly prepared, seasoned and presented...oh! I forgot to mention the desserts! Banana Pudding was the hands down best! Working with Emily was a delight. I truly felt relaxed that everything was under her control and I had no worries which was a relief as it allowed me to focus on other details of the event. She and her staff arrived in a timely manner and worked quickly and efficiently. In fact, they finished setting up well before our planned start time...we were all just standing around for a while waiting for our Guests. And during the event, they flawlessly executed the restocking of the dishes and made sure everyone had everything they needed or wanted. The entire GEMS Team was professional, polite and comfortable to work with. I truly could not have found a better caterer to work with. Thanks to Emily and her Team, I was able to relax and enjoy being with our Guests, comfortable in the knowledge that everyone and everything was being taken care of in a manner that truly fit my philosophy of Southern Hospitality. Not impressed, for the amount of money that was paid it looked like it was thrown together. The sandwiches were nice though, wrapped in paper and tied. Potato salad and tossed salad were in a bowls and the pasta salad was in a cake pan. The tossed salad was very wet and soggy. The fruit salad was in the wrong container so when you opened it out went all over the table. It looked like it was shaken up. No serving utensils but she did come back with them and the chips. 24 bottles of ice tea and 11 bottles of lemonade. For 37 ppl A learning experience The two people who dropped off the food were very nice and very polite.

The Liberty Venue team cannot recommend Emily and her crew enough. We utilized GEM’s Catering for our first Open House event at The Liberty Venue. Our initial catering arrangement fell through and Emily did not hesitate to step in and assure me our order would be ready for our event despite short notice! Our guests at the open house RAVED about how full and delicious the empanadas were. We will be ordering again in the future :)
