I prefer more of a bakery / coffee shop style atmosphere. House of Clarendon has much of a wedding vibe. That being said, the service was excellent, the owner came out to chat about my order and was incredibly friendly. Cupcakes were stellar as well. Would 100% visit again.

My family and my business has enjoyed the delicious and beautifully crafted cupcakes and cakes from Martine and the staff at HOC for years. The cupcakes are so yummy, so pretty, and just the right size! The fact that you can't stop at eating one is really the only problem with them!! They also recently made the wedding cake for my son's wedding. It was gorgeous and so elegant as well as fresh, light and so tasty!! Martine delivered everything he promised and more! He is so creative and makes great suggestions. He is a true professional and will take great care of you no matter what your desire or budget! Love, love, love!

First things first, THE CAKE TASTED AMAAAZZZIINNNNGGGG!! & it of course, looked absolutely amazing too! Martine was very communicative throughout the process and provided us with the most beautiful and delicious Vintage Blueberry Lemon cake of our dreams. Doing our tasting of a million (literally so many combos of flavors that they offer!) different cakes was so fun and allowed us to settle on the perfect flavor combination for us. I ate the cake on the wedding day, for breakfast, and on my drive home. Guests said that it was the best cake they have ever had! Cannot say enough amazing things! I wanted to buy some cupcakes for an occasion and Google’d the businesses around me to see what my peers recommended. House of Clarendon caught my eye - not only due to the glowing reviews, but also the unique selections available - so I decided to place an order for pickup.
Upon entering the business we were greeted by Martine, the owner. After stating I was there to pick up an order, Martine promptly got the order and handed it to me. Normally that would be the end of the experience, but Martine went above and beyond to explain the processes he used to create the various components of the cupcakes (the cakes themselves, the frosting, decorations, etc.) and went into detail the types of ingredients he uses. I’m a creator myself, so I appreciate when someone shows such obvious passion for their craft and takes time to educate others on their creative processes. Martine’s charisma and infectious adoration for his work were highlights of the experience, well worth the almost-hour-long drive to pick up the treats.
As for the cupcakes themselves, simply put, they were incredible. Easily the best we’ve ever tasted, and by a long shot at that. Sit down when you’re eating them, or else your knees will buckle!
It was a true pleasure to meet Martine, witness the love for his craft firsthand, and help out a local business that represents the best of Lancaster. I cannot recommend House of Clarendon enough to anyone reading this, they’re truly remarkable.

He literally is like family, and treats every customer as such! The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and will go over every detail for the cake of your dreams meticulously! The best part is... ask question after question and you will be met with the same politeness and patience! And that is SOOO RARE NOW A DAYS! I ordered my Daughter's birthday cake and I was more than surprised. It was a superb work and the cake was delicious. The best part was the wonderful customer service. Martin is the best, he heard all my ideas, comments, gave me feedback and guidance. I will definitely come back for my future events. I cannot stress enough that this is a wonderful jewel in downtown Lancaster.
HOC did my college graduation cake in 2021 and it was fantastic so I went to them this year with another request. I wanted cupcakes made for my friends 30th. A baker and I came up with the design over the phone and she was very creative.
The day came to pick up the cupcakes and unfortunately I was late. Didn’t realize they closed earlier on Saturdays and due to my phone being on DND I didn’t receive any of their calls/ voicemails. Sunday they were closed so I went to pick them up Monday. They were glad I was okay and had the cupcakes ready for me, they even redesigned some of the cupcakes so they could still be perfect.
I was able to drop them off at the birthday girls house as well as my friends who didn’t get a chance to try them day of celebration. We thoroughly enjoyed them, they were beautiful and tasty. The staff is friendly and the bakers are extremely talented. I’ll be back I’m sure!
