Jibarito Restaurant-Nuyorican

I gave it a one star because there's no lesser! We drove 2 hours for this. The food was not edible. We had 2 beef empanadas and they were under cooked. Horrible the dough was soft, and when we picked them up they folded it over, not crunchy at all! We threw them out. We also ordered carne Frita that was also under cooked. There was no meat and, the pork's fat was white, and the skin was not crispy. It was soggy!!!! We threw that out!! And last, we ordered morcilla, not good at all! It tasted like i was eating a fat jalapeño pepper, than a Puertorican blood sausage!! It was so spicy we couldn't taste it! We threw that out as well!! And 2 other dishes!! We didnt returned the food, we were already too far, not worth the gasoline spend. We went there with high expectations! Maybe the cook was new or was not up to cooking!!🤷‍♂️ but there are no excuses for this!! Money wasted! Sorry, but I cannot give it a good review if what we received wasn't right! Never again!! 👎👎👎👎👎

Muy bueno! We seriously good Puerto Rican pick up and go foods here. All types of empanadas, sandwiches, fried foods and PR breakfast things. The place is kind of small so it is good for pickup and go. Also it helps if you know a little Spanish, as ordering in Spanish may be easier for them.

100% authentic Puerto Rican food!!! It is NOT a sit-down, table service restaurant. Customers can order online and pick up for "takeaway." However, they have outdoor seating where, after ordering at the window, customers can sit to enjoy their meal or "picaderas." Melissa, Owner/Proprietor, is warm, welcoming, and friendly. A little piece of PR in PA. It's almost like eating at a roadside food truck in Puerto Rico, but you're in Pennsylvania. Lovely experience. We traveled from Maryland (2.5 hour day trip) to visit the area and fortuitously stumbled upon this place. WE'LL BE BACK!! ? "¡Pa'lante Melissa y éxito continuo!" ??

They need to be more attentive to what appears in their app to order, it is not the first time they have ordered and they do not include beans in my order!!

Great ?? place to pick up authentic food from Puerto Rico! Love the service. Because of its authenticity it took a little bit to get - but once you’ve received your order- whew! It was good! No tables for seating - mostly carry out only! ??

Parking: Small parking lot onsite - we went Sunday afternoon so it wasn’t very crowded but I could see some difficulty based on space!

The alcapurrias were awful. Outside burnt and smell like they were cooked in old oil, inside not even finished being cook as pictured below. The bacalaitos looked good but were beyond salty. All I could taste was salt, drank my entire Pepsi to take the salt out of my mouth. I got Pernil, it was salty as hell and the rice was trash. Very disappointed considering I spent $45 on food and the only thing I enjoyed was the Pepsi. The atmosphere was super cute and decorated great, customer service was excellent but the food -0! Will never return or recommend

I can only judge this place based off the fact I got it DoorDash both times I got it. I got the yellow rice roast pork combo the first time and it was very good. I also got the chicken and cheese empanadillas and it was very good. I got some other things to try and they were ok but i don’t blame that on them. However i ordered it again and got fried chicken this time with yellow rice and both items were definitely 2 days or more old. it was dry, bland, chewy and it wasn’t even fried it was rotisserie. Same with the rice and beans very dry and bland. I ordered the chicken cabobs as well and it was obviously old too, the corn roll with queso came without the queso. So very disappointing to see it’s not a consistent restaurant at all and i eat left overs often….(edit): i forgot to mention since i door dashed it i did get my money returned.

I ordered takeout yesterday from this place for this first time. They repeated my order back to me to make sure they had it right, but when I got home, instead of pollo guisado which I ordered, I had a dried out chicken leg quarter. I also ordered two sorrullitos and only got one and the alcapurrias were dried out with barely any meat in them. They rang up what they gave me but that's not what I ordered (despite the fact that they repeated the order back to me) and I didn't realize it until after I got home and they were already closed. So I called this morning to complain and the customer service was less than stellar, they took no responsibility for the messed up order, and didn't refund anything. I will definitely never go back there.***Update. Just a few minutes after I posted this, the owner called me and told me I was being petty and that I'd "better take it down" and that she was going to refund the full amount. She never refunded and I hung up on her for being ridiculous.
