I live and work downtown. Lancaster Downtown Deli is one of my daily go to spots for breakfast and lunch. Amazing hand crafted sandwiches and homemade sides with top tier quality in mind. Reasonably priced, and friendly staff. Do not pass this place up if you find yourself downtown.

I came here for the first time a few days ago and the food was outstanding! Everything was homemade and delicious. The owner was super personable and helpful with what to order. I will definitely be coming back!

My son had been working in downtown Lancaster and enjoyed lunch here a few times. On his day off he decided to treat his mom & dad to lunch. First thing that I noticed is that there is an extensive amount of sandwiches listed on their menu. I chose the Irish Gyro Sandwich with the potato salad. This place uses only the freshest ingredients, and you can taste the difference. My sandwich was fantastic, but my potato salad was crazy good!! A lot of the food here is made fresh, so don't expect fast food, but you'll be glad you waited. There's a friendly atmosphere here and the owner just wants his customers to be 100 percent satisfied. I was, and I'll be returning soon!

I'm a first time customer and I absolutely loved this place!I got the Shredded Chicken Sandwich On Ciabatta with a side of coleslaw, my sister got the Chicken Curry Sandwich with a side of potato salad. Everything was delicious! It was all made there, even the sides were house-made, and you can really tell!We also both got the Cinnamon lavender lemonade, and that was great! It wasn't too sweet/syrupy, and none of the flavors took over the others which I think would be hard to do, with lavender being as subtle as it is.The owner is kind, and he is passionate about the food which made the whole experience even better.I will definitely be coming back!

Saw this place while walking around downtown tucked away in an alley. The food was great, very fresh! The guy working was very nice and when we got our food and he showed us (it looked amazing) you can tell he takes pride in his work. He seems like a very nice guy, if we weren’t in a rush today it would have been nice talking to him and learning the history of the place. If I ever find myself in Lancaster again I would 100% go back, I wish him all the best.

I made a catering order for myself and my groomsmen and everyone was truly impressed. Delicious sandwiches, clearly made with care! Worked with Tom to make the order perfect and you can tell he really cares about his sandwiches. They came out perfect! Highly recommend!

Tom, the owner of the Lancaster Downtown Deli, knows ingredients the way a virtuoso pianist knows notes, and with them, he composes symphonies of flavor; a true food craftsman. In having eaten at the Lancaster Downtown Deli, I've experienced food, such as the coleslaw, made in ways that I've never had it before, but in ways much more delicious. I've experienced a grilled cheese sandwich, a food item that is often taken to be insubstantial, that tastes better than any grilled cheese sandwich has a right to taste, and that is incredibly substantial. Tom always asks me what kind of bread do I want for my sandwich--what kind of cheese--what side do I want. And nearly always, knowing that whichever kind of bread, and cheese, and side I choose is going to be of the highest quality, and imbued with his love for the creation of food, I have him choose.
The man is a dang wizard with the drinks. Unique and delicious flavors. Really enjoyed the sandwiches too.

We had a special request to have sandwich trays delivered to our wedding venue for the bridal party luncheon. The sandwiches were delivered on time and so delicious. All freshly made that morning. Wow.. everything is made there!! I think often places make main items and then buy premade sides and salads. This man makes all the sides himself (accept UTZ of course). Just a very nice small town's small business. Super friendly and caring service. I watched how he treated each individual customer like they were his best regular customer. I look forward to getting another sandwich here again one day.... and fresh made tasty flavored tea.
