Not really impressed. On my first time visit, they made my latte luke warm and when I took it back to be heated up they said they couldn't. My daughter showed up at 4:00pm and they told her right away that they close at 5 and started mopping the floor and turning down the lights. My first impression is that they are not customer friendly or service oriented. I won't go back.

Stopped by Square One Coffee during a recent visit to Lancaster and was disappointed by the experience.
The cleanliness of the space left much to be desired - tables and seating areas needed attention. I ordered an iced coffee expecting the quality they're known for, but it was surprisingly bland and lacked any distinctive flavor profile.
The atmosphere felt off as well. Despite the potential of the space, it didn't feel welcoming or comfortable enough to want to stay and enjoy my drink. For a specialty coffee shop with their reputation, I expected better attention to detail in both the product and the environment.

Autumn Comfort and Community

During my visit to Square One Coffee in downtown Lancaster, I ordered a pumpkin spice latte for about $7 before tip. The drink was beautifully presented, topped with light foam design. Its flavor was warm and balanced, not too sweet, with just the right blend of espresso and spice. It tasted like fall in a cup, rich but smooth and not too hot enough to enjoy slowly while walking in the town.
The café itself felt calm and intentional, with plenty of natural light, wooden seats, and quiet corners perfect for reading or working. Near the counter, I noticed a food donation box, a small merch display, and a fridge stocked with snacks which are thoughtful touches that show how Square One connects with its community. The staff were friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about their coffee and sourcing practices (a frame of how coffee is produced).
Visiting Square One made me reflect on how cafés can serve as both gathering places and reflections of shared values. Here, quality and community blend together just as seamlessly as their coffee and milk.

Nice atmosphere seating inside and outside. Big selection of coffees and teas. Staff helpful and food items prepared to perfection. Great spot.

I'm a frequent flyer at this place but 90% of the employees seem absolutely miserable every time I go there which leads me to wonder if it's a business I should be supporting... good coffee though

Best black coffee in the area hands down. Atmosphere is chill and there are food options always available too.

Ample seating (10 or so tables) on the Saturday morning we came. Breakfast sandwich and baked goods were great. Efficient and friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere, loved it.

We were sent here as part of a scavenger hunt and decided to get coffee while there. The staff were great and there are a lot of little secrets in the back wall. Leave a note before you leave...

Apparently you can get a free drink if you buy a bag of beans. Didn’t see it advertised anywhere, and it was our first time there. We got drinks first to see if we liked it and then bought some beans. Unfortunately, it was late in the day and not our first coffees, so we passed on the free beverage.

Hands down some of the best cold brew in Lanc imo, Staff are friendly however depending who’s on shift I tend to feel this sense of pretentiousness coming off on some of the employees but that could just be my own insecurities being a straight Hispanic male who is an ally to the lgbtq community within square one that is always so welcoming even if their vibe doesn’t feel as such. Hands down my favorite place of peace in Lancaster on the contrary

Staff are friendly enough. Coffee is not my taste. Cookies are okay. A bit pricey.

I almost called back to ask if the coffee was usually sour - I love coffee, investor in coffee shops in Philly, this iced coffee was undrinkable quite literally got two a iced sugar free vanilla and a iced latte with almond milk. Terrible tasting, as my partner said - like diarrhea. We took two sips and had to throw it out a block a way. Coffee shouldn’t taste like sour sewage water and this unfortunately for my taste buds did.
