Staff are friendly enough. Coffee is not my taste. Cookies are okay. A bit pricey.

I almost called back to ask if the coffee was usually sour - I love coffee, investor in coffee shops in Philly, this iced coffee was undrinkable quite literally got two a iced sugar free vanilla and a iced latte with almond milk. Terrible tasting, as my partner said - like diarrhea. We took two sips and had to throw it out a block a way. Coffee shouldn’t taste like sour sewage water and this unfortunately for my taste buds did.

We typically roast our own beans at home and have a ridiculously high end expresso machine and grinder. Consequently, finding a great cup of coffee outside the home can be a challenge. Square One coffee is the best I have ever found outside our home. We love this place and always stop by the shop when our travels bring us to Lancaster!

I was looking for another local coffee shop, got lost in directions and stumbled upon Square One and oh boy it was a treat. Although they ran out of oat milk my iced latte with regular milk and cold foam was absolutely amazing! So glad I came here. Service was outstanding! It must be locals’ most favorite coffee shop. Would be mine for sure! ✨Highly recommend!
Super friendly staff and great drinks. My daughter and I went in on mother's day while the wife was sleeping. It was busy, but they kept the line moving. They also went out of there way to check their inventory for me when they didn't have the size t-shirt (their logo is awesome) I was looking for. Ended up buying 2. Next time we are in Lancaster, we will definitely stop back!
Excellent coffee and atmosphere, service was great as well, but parking was not the the best, I had to walk a half mile after parking.
Excellent coffee if you appreciate a good drip or espresso. We're coffee snobs are were impressed. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming and the pastries were delicious. Check out the brick wall in the back where people leave notes in the wall. Great coffee spot. Will absolutely be back.
A long wait for the coffee. Ordered latte and it tasted under extracted.
Lovely, delicious sandwich and coffee, chill but busy environment.

10/10 recommend square one coffee. I’ve been to the cafe which is amazing. I have ordered my coffee beans from square one online for years now as I live out of state and I’m never disappointed. The customer service is top notch too :)
When we moved back to Lancaster 5 years ago, we decided we would make SQ1 our Regular Coffee Spot. We like the people, we like the coffee & the community conversations that happen there. It's incredibly unpretentious, & even if it gets crowded, it'll get decrowds soon enough that you can get your cup a few minutes later.
The best thing about SquareOne is the coffee. Purchased & locally roasted by conscientious owners, it is consistently fresh & delicious--& I don't use those words generically. It's really good. And better-priced than local competitor Passenger, which is good but nearly unaffordable.
It seems like staff at SquareOne have turned over often, leading to uneven barista-ing. Their espresso skills are generally top-notch, but I paid for a latte a couple days ago that I really couldn't drink. I think the baristas may not have heard me very completely, because they made the drink with the wrong kind of milk. It didn't hurt me, but of course when when money & time are limited & I go out for a coffee, it hope it'll be a good experience.
SquareOne's other challenging area is its food menu. Which is not great. Sometimes their baked goods linger in the case, but even wrapped, can look unappealing...Sandwiches lean toward very bready & must be (apparently) slowly & painstakingly prepared by staff in the kitchen, one at a time. This is not a quick process, & does not result in awesomeness. I try just to think of SquareOne as The Coffee Place, & leave food to other outlets.
Seating is good both inside, where there are plenty of 2- & 3-seat tables, & outside, where there are tables for 3 & 4. Two (very) tiny restrooms are available at the very back of the seating area.
Pretty good coffee & chai latte.
Hot lattes were great! Quiet atmosphere to just sit and chat which is exactly what we were hoping to find.
Fun, busy, cute, and quality. Some of the best coffee you’ll get in lanc
