The space is beautiful (although the porch feels a bit like being sent to the back room, it's less charming than the main room). Service is top notch and food was perfect. Prices are a bit high (8oz tenderloin for $72 is really too pricey).
The Log Cabin was a unique experience. This was our first time going and we were intrigued when we learned it used to be a speak easy. We made reservations which is a must and we were seated close to our reservation time. Our table felt intimate and our server was extremely attentive (almost too much). The food was good and the drink was ok but honestly it was really overpriced. $24 for a single cocktail. The clientele was also very homogeneous and didn't seem like a super welcoming place for a diverse crowd. We probably won't go back.
We always have a wonderful experience at the Log Cabin. This evening the filet was to be medium but is was rare in the center. There was a mystery dinner going on upstairs, so I'm not sure how that impacted our service, but we had to ask for our water to be refilled.
The moment we walk in (every time ) we are greeted by the most friendly and professional hostess. She let us know we were a bit early and could either enjoy a drink at the bar or sit and listen to the fantastic trio playing in the lounge. Our table was not where I preferred as we were upstairs in what felt like a hallway, but the food more than made up for it. We ordered several small plates to share and one was perfectly cooked and seasoned! We can't wait to return!
We had a wonderful time. The food and service was excellent. Very knowledgeable staff and very nice as well. The room with the new fireplace was beautiful. It was an exceptional experience.
The food was delicious, our server was attentive, personable, and professional, and our table was in the perfect location for quiet conversation, which had been our request. We could not have been more pleased.
Great as always. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Worth the two hour drive from D.C.
My wife and I wanted to try something new for our 24th anniversary. I have heard good things about The Log Cabin for years, and it is only about 35 minutes away from us. We loved the drive there, and enjoyed the beautiful setting of the restaurant. We were seated at a quiet table for two, and the service was very attentive. After studying the menu a bit, we ordered some cocktails and appetizers. These arrived pretty quickly, and were delicious. The restaurant was fairly quiet on a Monday, so service was efficient and food was hot. We shared a dessert, and truly enjoyed our celebration. And looking around afterward was fun too. We just wish the bar was open to go in and look around! Beyond that, we found our new place for birthdays and anniversaries moving forward! We can't wait to return!
Oh my goodness! It was over the top! Friends suggested we eat here and we agreed because it's been a little while since we were there. So before hand I looked at the menu and was a little surprised at the steak prices. Again, it's been maybe 2 years that we were there. HOWEVER, I had made my reservation on open table and was offered the bar or the patio. Well I didn't know what the weather would be like 10 days out so I opted for a table in the bar area. I called the week of to ask that maybe we could be in a bit of a more quiet area since all of our hearing isn't what it use to be. Upon arrival, we asked if we could be outside since the weather was lovely and they were very gracious in accommodating us. There was a very dear couple behind our table and we got chatting with them and when their food arrived, we were in awe! Not only did it smell amazing, they said it was maybe the best they've had. So of course, we ordered the same thing, 2 salmons and 2 ribeyes! Amazing doesn't even come close to the taste of the dry aged ribeyes! The spouses loved their salmon and we all ended up sharing!
Me and my partner dined here yesterday (kinda last minute res) when we first got there the host was so incredibly sweet and kind. we got there 15 minutes before our res and we sat in the lounge (gorgeous). our server (i believe his name was christian) was unbelievable. We ordered the charcooch, bone marrow, carpaccio and pork belly. The carpaccio might’ve been the best bite i’ve ever had. The drinks as well were so delicious and well balanced. We WILL be going back.

The service here is impeccable and super atmosphere/ambiance. Food is ok. My husband had French onion soup and I had a tomato and burrata salad. My salad was excellent. The soup was just ok, nothing beyond other lesser priced soups we've had out. We got the break basket which was good. Also got the lobster small plate for $22. Pieces of lobster were very small but tasted good. But for the price, I expected the steaks to be superb. They were not. A bit on the tough side even though they were cooked inside to our specifications. I got the filet (very charred on outside which I like that taste but it was so tough for filet) and my husband got the NY strip. We both agreed they were not the best we've had. Steaks were approximately $80 per entree which included small potato and veg side. Also ordered extra mushrooms on my steak for $14 extra. I received approximately 5 mushrooms on the steak. Glad we tried it. But would not go back for the price vs. quality of food.
This was a lovely place with great service . French Onion soup and Ceasar salad was perfect. We opted for small plates featuring pork belly, filet, lobster , carpaccio. They were all very good except the lobster, very poor execution. Ambiance was not what I expected, close tables and the noice level was high. There was a band in another room as well so that affected our communication. Dessert was wonderful, peanut butter bold and creme brûlée , perfect! We've lived in this area for a very long time , glad we finally tried it but for the cost and noice level we were disappointed.
Our first visit to Log Cabin was only two months ago for an anniversary, and we loved it so much we quickly made it our next "special day" restaurant, so we returned for a birthday! We'll be back for the next birthday, I'm sure!
We celebrated our 48th anniversary at Log Cabin. What a treat! Beginning with our cocktails the evening went on to be a true delight. I highly recommend the Bourbon Revival- different and delicious. For dinner we each had the petit Caesar salad. I had the duck breast and it was divine- juicy, tender and surrounded by parsnip purée, spaetzle, and baby carrots. My husband had the osso bucco which he loved. We enjoyed a dessert. As a little sweet for our anniversary we received a package of Wilbur chocolate buds. Mary Rose was our waitress. She was charming, and we had fun with her. All in all a perfect evening!
