Portions are big. Food was only ok so I left too much on the plate.
Service was excellent.
Atmosphere was interesting. Themed on Coca-Cola advertising.

First, I have to say I am very value oriented. Read this if you are, too. I have been going to Maryanne's for over 25 years since they were originally in Croydon. Maryanne knew my family by our names, and she kept the place real. The normal menu prices have exceeded the value/experience at this point. Don't get me wrong, it's always been on the upper end of normal, and with good reason. It was still a good value. I consider it unaffordable now, and that makes me sad. You can't even get a normal 2 eggs and meat breakfast affordably. It's 6.50 for 2 eggs, potatoes, and toast, and $7 for a side of breakfast meat. That combo is simply not worth $13.50 anywhere. It's actually still cheaper at the beach in almost all cases! I don't even know how much adding cheese cost because my family wouldn't allow me to see the bill when it came, which means it would have pissed me off something terrible. Last time in I skipped the bacon and just had 3 eggs for 7.50. They must have been quail eggs because 2 eggs at home from Aldi amount to the same or more. All in all, it's not what it used to be, but it remains a close runner up. I still have positive overall feels for the place, but I can't go at regular menu price times any longer and not have buyers remorse.

Nice decor. Didn't really enjoy the food. Had French toast, thick whole wheat bread, maybe some cinnamon, not sure rather bland. Sausage was different, difficult to cut, not my preference. Coffee was very bitter, again not my preference. The happy hour prices seem to be a good 40% less, wished they just cut the price by 20% for everyone regardless of time of day. It's just as expensive as every other place now a days. When they clean the tables, they use a strong smelling cleaner on the table. Please don't do that as the rest of us have to smell that.
Overall review: not my preference.

Gets a 2 star deduction on prices alone. By far the most expensive breakfast place for what you get. You cannot charge boutique breakfast prices for standard diner fare without anything distinguishing you apart from every other breakfast place in the area. The food is good. The atmosphere is awesome. The service is friendly. I usually say you get what you pay for but nearly $50 for two omelettes and coffee is way too expensive. Especially when the competition is nearly half the price and just as good in terms of food quality.

My wife and I stopped by on Friday 12/13 for breakfast. This was our first time at Maryanne's Homestyle Cooking. My wife ordered French Toast, eggs over easy, crisp bacon & coffee.
I ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs, coffee.
My pancakes were 'Horrible' , The only way I can describe the pancakes was 'rubbery' and not light and fluffy. I took two bites and couldn"t finish the pancakes. Very chewy! Not tasty!
My scrambled eggs were satisfactory and coffee was good.
My wife's French Toast tasted sour, (stale bread or overcooked). She couldn't eat the French Toast. Her eggs over easy were good, bacon was too greasy & not crisp, coffee was good. Service was good. We do not plan to return.

Owners treat their employees like trash. They do not want to have to pay unemployment if they fire the employee so they just bully them and cut their days to the point where they can't afford to pay rent etc. In hopes that the person will quit. Absolutely disgusting owners to do something like this in our current economic climate.
Tasty plates here, check em out !

The kitchen manager there is highly disrespectful to his employees. Degrading people on a daily basis is disgusting to me. If you have people working for you like this at your establishment, I feel sorry for the business. I'll never eat here ever again with how those people get talked to like they are garbage. Shame on you dude!
The only thing I would change is I would keep all the small kids on one side of the restaurant. for those of us without kids they can be a bit loud and distracting. but the food and staff always top notch!! we try to get there at least once a week!

I love their breakfast items! We have been here twice now and both times were good. The menu is a good variety and the staff was nice. I walked in with my cane and the staff knew to sit us close to the entrance and exit so I didn't have far to walk. I got French toast this time with sautéed walnut and bananas with amaretto, and my husband ordered an omelet, Both were sooooo good. I would recommend this place!

The creamed chipped beef has no beef. By the eggs Benedict for same price. You won't have to eat flour
