This was our sixth or seventh visit to the Newportville Inn, our first on a weeknight, and it didn't live up to the other times. The loaded potato pancakes were just lightly garnished with toppings, not at all what I would have called 'loaded:' plenty of green onions, but no more than a dab of sour cream, a few shreds of cheese, and some barely visible crumbs of bacon. Each of us at the table ordered a different type of schnitzel. They were all tasty but some were not well presented. We were warned that the plates were hot, but the food was actually just lukewarm. The Drunken Bavarian schnitzel had only half as much sauce as the other two, and was a little thinner and tougher as well. It was all fine, but not memorable. I suppose even a great restaurant can have an off night.

Nice Bavarian Fare, good ? staff, no issues, we just miss the mustard, and our attentive waitress, I believe her name was Heidi, perfect name for a unique Bavarian experience.Parking: The parking distance from the Handicapped stop to the door was not an issue.

Great restaurant, enjoy coming here. Seated fast on a very busy Friday night. Food was very good! We had a very friendly waiter who did a great job. I had the Drunken Bavarian Schnitzel loved it. That braided red cabbage is good too. Wife had her favorite Farmer's Feast.

Veal Schnitzel was dried out & burnt. Perogis were rubbery. Haven't been there for some time & dissapointed. Server didn't offer to take back & said she would check w/Mgr but seemed to forget us.

This is a welcome change from your average restaurant, serving a mix of bar food like burgers ? and wings to complement their traditional German fare for which they're known, plus an interesting selection of game options that I'm not brave enough to try. If you want to try gator or elk, however, this is your place. My family loves the pierogies (Polish fare, I believe, but so good here, nonetheless) which come in plates of four, so get two orders for a family of four ?. They have traditional potato and cheese and then some specials but we stick to the traditional. My son had the wings and loved them, and he's fairly critical of wings, so that's saying something. The atmosphere is dark and bar-like in a cozy kind of way that I like but may not appeal to everyone. The servers are friendly and the food came out quickly. There isn't a parking lot, so we parallel park on the small street behind the restaurant.

Was so excited to go, waited an hour for our reservation only to get not so attentive server plus I have severe shell fish allergy and was so looking forward to having veal schnitzel only to find out almost everything they cook is cross contaminated with shell fish so only thing I could eat was red cabbage and spaetzel! Never got out till everyone else was finished eating ?2 sides should’ve come out with everyone’s main courseDietary restrictions: Kitchen not cognizant of food allergiesMy shell fish allergy stopped me from eatingTheir kitchen isn’t preparedParking: There was five of us so we brought our sims pick up! Very very tight maneuvering and had to park on street finally
