We stayed at a motel nearby, and had breakfast here every day. I had an excellent egg and sausage paddy every day. My wife had two eggs and rye toast. We both agree we will be stopping here again. Not fancy, but really good food and fast service.
In February 2024, I tried Red's Diner in Lewistown, PA and I was rather underwhelmed by my experience.
The layout of the building was quite nice, complete with Red walls and seats (quite fitting), as well as vintage Coca-Cola themed memorabilia. The problem was during my visit, it was an hour before closing time and the some of the lights were turned off, thus resulting in the building looking dingy. Used to love getting Fried Chicken Gizzards with French Fries and Chicken Gravy on both!
The grill is visible from the bar so you can actually watch them prepare anything you order that they cook on the grill such as breakfast items like eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, hash browns etc.
