We celebrated my brother's birthday here a few days ago. We all had a great time and really enjoyed our food. Our waitress, Samantha, is one of the best waitresses we've ever had. She was personable and helpful. Samantha brought out a small taste of the Caesar dressing for one of us, who was concerned about the anchovies in it, she decided the Caesar dressing is really good. We started with the truffle fries, which were very tasty, perfectly cooked and had Parmesan and parsley on them. Two of us got beef and two of us got seafood. The beef, which was amazingly good, is from a local meat market and is locally produced. One of the owners, Nicole, came out and talked to us for a bit as well. We felt very welcome and comfortable. The building is very old, circa 1873, and you have to go down steps from the street to get in. But don't let either of those stop you from going. We'll definitely go again.

I’m actually amazed at the high ratings this restaurant gets. We found it very disappointing. The rather pricey menu suggests fine dining, but there is nothing about the food, service, or atmosphere that rises anywhere close to that level. Slow service, disinterested server with an attitude, mediocre food, and decor that is very dated. No paper towels in the minuscule men’s room. To be honest, it really felt like no one was making much of an effort.

We had a great dinner with visiting family. Our table of 8 was excellently served good drinks and appetizers very timely allowing great time for conversation. The main course was excellent and even though we were full we ordered delicious desserts. Personally my Sea Bass was perfectly prepared and delicious. And the sauce on the water chestnuts delicious, so much better than the traditional bbq sauce.

What a pleasant surprise! We come to the area often, but never ate here before. EVERYTHING we had was amazing. Bruschetta, onion soup, salads, crab cake, seafood bake and dessert to go. I can't breathe I ate so much!

I had a salmon Wellington stuffed with spinach. Seriously, one of the best meals I’ve ever had along with a perfectly prepared baked potato and yellow squash. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t the wine talking, but I’m eating my leftovers now and it’s still one of the best meals I’ve have had anywhere. Thank you, Chef.

A real hidden gem that I can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for a great dinner at a very reasonable price. The New York Strip steak was phenomenal and the portion sizes are nothing to scoff at either. Certainly get your money’s worth for a great meal. The old timey, rustic layout on the inside is also worth admiring over.

Me and my girlfriend Rachel stopped here while we were staying at a Cabin nearby. We were not prepared for how good this food was. It was delicious, every single item we had was to die for! One of the best meals I have ever had in PA, if not the best. It was so good in fact, we made reservations for the following night and it was just as phenomenal the second time. We will absolutely be coming back to this area just for this restaurant! Cannot recommend this place enough! God bless!

Visiting friends in Oil City who raved about the Wayside. They were absolutely right! Family owned by a warm and friendly couple and their son, the chef, the atmosphere is that of walking into Grandma's house for Sunday dinner. Simple, but warm and cozy. But the food... So good!!! I had the salmon with crab and horseradish sauce. Huge piece of fish, perfectly cooked. I'm not generally a sauce person, but this was exceptional! My friends had the steak and the pork chop. Equally delicious! And the desserts... My carrot cake was scrumptious, as were the espresso chocolate cake and the cheesecake. Nicole, Mike and Jake chatted us up and we felt like family. All in all, a wonderful experience and an excellent meal.
