Impressive from start to finish. Ideal spot for client dinners or a quiet meal with trusted friends. The wine list is exceptional and the staff made us feel completely taken care of.

Normally the food is very good. Just wondering if it was an off night. The beef Wellington wasn't as good as usual and my husband ordered a crab cake on the side and there was no garnish or sauce, which he felt was unusual. The only other issue were the mashed potatoes, we've had them there many times before, but for some reason they tasted of coconut. Our waitress was very nice and we have no complaints about service.

probably the nicest restaurant all around on the Main Line. Historic, elegant setting and traditionnal food of the best quality, attentive, friendly service, Lovely for a spécial occasion.

This was my first time dining here, but it certainly won't be my last. The entire experience from start to finish was exceptional. I highly recommend dining outside on the charming patio, which has so much character and great ambiance. Also, while I'm not a big meat eater, the beef wellington was so worth it. Five stars!

Pretty bad experience. My wife and I went there for our anniversary dinner. We started off at the bar where we ordered two drinks. The bartender served me my drink, but completely forgot to make my wife's drink. We watched her serve other guests and when I asked about my wife's drink, she made an excuse that she was trying to catch up on the dinner crowd's drinks. There were no dinner specials. My wife's vodka tonic and my bourbon drink were served in soda glasses like you would get at your local pub ( fine for normal dine-out, but not a high end restaurant) The shrimp cocktail appetizer was served on a dinner plate with a piece of lettuce ( looked like 6 shrimp from Costco served on a plate from my cupboard)The beef Wellington was good, but small for $49. The crabcake was good, and my wife enjoyed her pork ribeye. There were families with kids making a lot of noise and running around. Again, fine for a normal dine-out, but zero ambiance for a special occasion.

First time at the General Warren Inn and was not disappointed. I chose the Beef Wellington, medium rare. It came with smashed potatoes, broccoli, and a red wine demi-glace sauce. The server (Colin) also brought warm rolls and butter prior to the entree arriving. Service was very good; Colin was attentive without being intrusive. If I have a chance to go back - I most certainly wood. I do think the entree was fairly priced. Perusing the dessert menu, I considered the simplicity of some ice cream, but I felt it was overpriced at $8.50 - and honestly, the quantity of food for the entree plate was quite sufficient. Colin brought an Andes chocolate/mint with the actual bill. There were no errors with the bill either, despite my use of a $30 birthday pak coupon.

Not quite as fabulous as previous meals. Wellington crust was undercooked, the Warren Burger was pricey and nothing special. A dead bug in water glass (quickly replaced but still!). We felt a bit rushed. Not a deal breaker, we'll be back!

I highly recommend this restaurant, a historic place and with a bed and breakfast hotel upstairs.

Went to celebrate anniversary. Service, food, and atmosphere was excellent. First time there. Would definitely go back

Fabulous experience. Go to their website to see menu (all food is excellent) and the charming ambiance. Sit outside if weather permits.

Very charming, great service. The food was mediocre at best. This is the first time I've had a disappointing meal there, so hopefully it was just a bad night.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the General Warren. The food was delicious and prepared to perfection, the service was excellent and the ambiance perfect for an evening dinner. If you have never been here, treat yourself to the wonderful experience you deserve, you will not be disappointed.

Our son had the Beef Wellington which was cooked as he ask, medium well. My husband had the new chicken option which he enjoyed. I had the vegan option with mushroom protein which has the taste, look and texture of beef. I'm not a beef eater but this dish, with cubed sweet potatoes and black beans, was very good. Our server, Colin, did a good job.

Sitting downstairs at the General Warren enjoying the outside view. Great time and fantastic dinner.

This is a lovely, very comfortable restaurant ...there's always the feel of many regular customers. Because the restaurant has many dining rooms, as busy as it was, we didn't have the noise and frantic pace of a busy holiday dining experience. Food and service always dependable...
