I'm grateful to have a Chinese food buffet in Chester County AND it's vegan is an awesome bonus. I do wish the buffet wasn't so expensive though. But the food is tasty, there are plenty of options which is great for trying out different things. Their pepper "steak" is uncanny. I can't believe it's not real meat. I've been here with non-vegans and they've enjoyed the food too.

Walking in, I thought SuTao was a little small, but they pack a lot into a small package. Two rows of food, trays on both sides, offer a myriad of Chinese favorites. With every buffet, there is a wide variety of quality. The greatest offerings are shrimp toast, chicken fried balls, and purple rice. All the Asian staples are good (white rice, steamed dumplings, lo mein). Some dishes are a little repetitive using the same vegan meat in different sauces. I love trying food, and buffets give me that opportunity. Dessert is sparse, offering less than a handful of finger foods like coconut cookie straws. We were met politely at the door and the service is warm and attentive. A few changes would upgrade Sutao. The price is a little high but vegan Chinese buffets are rare. Not all the food was warm. Some covers might fix that. Overall, it's a rare experience and highly recommend it.

I paid nearly $30 for the buffet and a lukewarm Jasmine tea. Many buffet items had either run out or were nearly empty. I tried several of the dishes that were available but they were barely warm and tasted like they had been sitting for some time. Twice during my visit, one of the staff members fell asleep and began snoring while sitting at the register. In the restroom, I noticed the soap was heavily diluted with water. Had I seen this before I ate, I would have immediately left since this is an issue of food safety. It is disturbing to realize that kitchen staff used the restroom, didn't wash their hands properly and then handled food. There is NO excuse for not having soap in the restroom. Other reviews on here note that this restaurant has been regularly out of compliance for food safety and judging by the watered-down restroom soap, I guess I should consider myself lucky that I didn't get Norovirus. I agree with another reviewer that Sutao would have to make serious improvements (starting with their sanitation) for me to consider visiting again. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-03

I ate double what I normally eat for dinner, but still felt like the buffet wasn't worth the cost.

Can’t believe how many menu options they have! Will definitely be back to try more. The 3 items I had were all delicious!

This place is a pleasant surprise. It is a small "mom and pop" Chinese restaurant, located in an older strip mall, right next to an arcade. This is not where we expected to find an all-vegan restaurant, with a health conscious message. The food was great and the staff were friendly. We had hot and sour soup, general tso's chicken, shrimp toast, and the stir fry vegetable wrap. The wrap was the biggest surprise and we would highly suggest it. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable.

This is a BYOB place which serves all vegan dishes. We had a group dinner and everyone liked the flavour and the food taste. The service was awesome and portion was really generous as 2 adults were able to share a dish. Must try place!!

We were VERY excited to try this restaurant and I was so happy they had a vegan version of Sweet & Sour Chicken - I REALLY missed it since eating exclusively plants! The Dragon Dumplings were so good too (even though we still don’t know what they were)!! It’s out of the way for us, but we’ll definitely be going back!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I was incredibly impressed with the food. My only regret is that I didn't place a to go order as well. So why the 3 star rating you may ask. Due to lack of (good) service I couldn't rate it any higher. The waiter didn't check on us once nor did he bring items that were asked for multiple times. In fact, every time I tried to get his attention , he would turn and run the opposite way. All in all, I would highly recommend this place for take out only if you are expecting good service.

Dined here a little over a year ago and had horrible food poisoning. It was most likely the General Tsao’s Portabella Mushroom since it’s the only dish no one else at the table ate but me. Food was good, but not worth risking another potential food poisoning…
