Adorable place and great service!
I very highly recommend this place. They were so pleasant to deal with. It’s effortless to have an event there. No decorations needed because it so beautiful. I would have another event there in a heartbeat
We recently held a bridal shower at this venue for approximately 45 guests, and while there were some highlights, there were also several areas of concern that impacted the overall experience.
On the positive side, the service staff was outstanding—positive, attentive, and accommodating throughout the shower. The food was delicious and received many compliments from our guests. The indoor space was bright, spacious, and beautifully laid out, offering plenty of room to move comfortably and celebrate.
However, there were notable challenges that should be considered before booking. The cost was over $3,600 for a relatively small group, which felt excessive given the overall experience. The event coordinator was difficult to work with—communication was limited, and responses to questions were often delayed or unclear. There were also overly restrictive and sometimes confusing rules that made planning unnecessarily stressful.
In terms of decor, the centerpieces were outdated and in obvious need of replacement, which took away from the otherwise nice interior. Additionally, the exterior of the building was uninviting; it looked more like a haunted house upon arrival due to storm damage and ongoing construction—none of which was communicated in advance.
While there are strengths to this venue, particularly the food, service, and indoor space, it’s important for potential clients to be aware of the current condition of the exterior, the cost, and the limitations in communication and coordination. With improvements in transparency, décor, and planning support, this could be a top-tier event location. We recently held an event at this venue for approximately 45 guests, and while there were some highlights, there were also several areas of concern that impacted the overall experience.

This place was absolutely wonderful. My daughter, sister, niece and I had a lovely time! The decor, inside and out was beautiful, the place settings were beautiful, our server was a lovely gentleman, I don't remember his name but he was spectacular. Will definitely be back to enjoy the Christmas decor!
The Johnston House is absolutely stunning. From the architecture to the decor to the people who work there, it is top tier! I just had my bridal shower there and I couldn't think of something to change. 10/10 would recommend!
This place is absolutely gorgeous! The staff is remarkable and the owners are amazing to work with! I have done a few balloon setups now for showers and everytime I am so please with how smooth and professional everything is ran! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a shower location or just a nice place for tea!
Delicious scones and quiche and such wonderful tea☕️🫖
We have visited the Johnston House at different times throughout the year. They decorate beautifully for Christmas. The small bites they serve are always delicious and the staff are very nice and welcoming!
Everything was wonderful! 10/10 will have another event there again.
I recently hosted a bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law in the Main Tea Room. Terri was very accommodating to our needs and also quickly responded to any questions or concerns I had prior to the event. The food is delightful and the staff made sure dietary restrictions were recognized. A lovely day for the bride and the guests!

The Johnston House wonderful place to have a Bridal Shower. They take away all the stress. Guests were raving about the food!!
We just had our Bridal Shower at the Johnston House yesterday (4/27/25) and it was spectacular. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating. No detail was missed. The venue is gorgeous on its own, but we were allowed to bring in our own touches as well and they were so accommodating with that too. The food was delicious, everyone was raving about it. The teas were amazing. We have some picking people with their tea and even they enjoyed it! The guests said how elegant it was, and it truly was. It was nice to not have to worry about cooking and timing but also being able to make the venue feel like it was yours. Highly recommend this venue. Looking forward to the next event there. Thank you to all the staff who made the day special and go off without a hitch.
My daughter's bridal shower was held at The Johnston House. The décor was ideal for a shower, the servers were attentive, and the food was plentiful. The only issue was that the room was not set up to accommodate the number of guests contracted for - it was short two chairs. The server quickly accommodated the last guest by adding a chair; however, when the groom arrived midway, he had to stand. Immediately following the event, I was asked to pay for the additional chair. After a brief discussion, the issue was dropped, but not before I was scolded about how adding a chair threw off the food count on the trays. In addition, this occurred in front of a few guests. (No refund was offered; however, I did not request one.) A few days later, I wrote to explain how embarrassed I felt for being scolded for their mistake and have never received a response. The event was a few weeks ago. When setting up for your event, please count the chairs so this does not happen to you!
This was a wonderful experience. I will be booking again soon! Thank you
Beautiful House for a tea gathering. Lovely atmosphere. Scrumptious food.
