Wild Annie’s. (*note revised see owners reply)
First time visit with Office get-together during lunch hour.
*Atmosphere: Nestled in the woods just off Hwy 30 in McConnellsburg, it is just a half-hour drive from the Chambersburg area. There are no other distractions nearby. It is a wooden country-style building with an interior filled with homey decorations, carefully curated to not look schlocky. Nice main seating area with two side rooms for groups, one of which opens to outside in summer. Plenty of parking. (*kid friendly).
*Food: The food is the best I have had in a long time for the price and setting! All the food appears to be as fresh as possible. Preparation and presentation are very nicely done for a casual atmosphere. Burgers, wraps, either plated or in baskets, are served with crispy vegetables, fries, and other in-house condiments. I had the fish basket, which was two medium thick pieces perfectly cooked without being soggy or dry and wrapped in a dark, crispy brown coating. Fries (coated?) were crisp and not soggy to the end! Both served with fresh in-house tartar or other sauces as requested. Good coffee or other fountain drinks. (* BYOB alcohol no corkage fee). Desserts were certainly not the standard off the shelf type. My Chocolate Torte (*no flour) was smooth, creamy, and dark with a raspberry sauce, certainly in-house crafted!
*Prices for the lunch items $10 to $20 dollars or so. Given the quality, it is a steal!
*Table Service is medium weight flatware and medium heavy mugs or glasses with good plates and wire baskets.
* Serving staff: Only two staff were working the main room, and our side room. Service was friendly and cheerful, well versed in the menu, and willing to accommodate and make suggestions. Kudos!
Personally, I was blown away to find such a gem hidden away in the woods! If in Chambersburg, it would stand out like a beacon on the hill! I intend to come back for a dinner service sometime soon!
** I went back for dinner service. Everything I said before applies! I had the steak option, which was wonderful!

We went to Wild Annie’s this weekend for my mom’s 95th birthday. We went last year… The owners made her day and we had great food, service and a great family restaurant. A five star restaurant.

Wild Annie's is a gem nestled in beautiful Fulton County and absolutely worth the drive. Food is to die for - I highly recommend saving room for the flourless chocolate tart with raspberry compote. Pairs well with the Crabby Quesadilla, a personal favorite. Everything I've had has been AMAZING, and my husband has a standing order each time I go up, which is about once a month. Order the chips and grab a bag to go - you can thank me later 😉

I didn't particularly like the sauce on my burger, but maybe I took the wrong burger. The service and atmosphere were great though.

We enjoyed our meals very much. The atmosphere was casual. Server was polite and knowledgeable. It took a while for our order to arrive, but not a problem.
We would love to return and will recommend Wild Annies to friends when they are near McConnellsburg!

Ordered crabby fries. It was melted cheese with a spoon full of cold crab meat pulled apart, no green onions like it says on menu. Literally got sick in 15 mins of eating. Not worth $17 at all.
