We loved our experience here this evening! We’ve seen it hundreds of times for what, 15-20 years? Never stopped in until now. Our kids LOVED it and we were really impressed. We’ll be back soon!!! (OMG Roll is to die for!)

You call that sushi? It was just a pile of rice rolls soaked in some weird sticky sauce, with unevenly cut pieces. I can make something way better at home without even trying. This was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten—and it cost over $60

My husband and I visited Fuji Sushi & Grill on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and had a very disappointing experience. I’m currently pregnant and was really looking forward to a healthier meal, but one of the sushi rolls I ordered was completely drenched in sauce — it had soaked the roll and pooled in the container, making it inedible. I’ve had eel sauce before, usually lightly zigzagged on top of the roll but this was excessive.

We ordered 30–45 minutes before closing, but didn’t receive the food until just before they shut down. When we discovered the issue, we went back to politely ask if just that one roll could be remade. The staff said the kitchen was closed, which we respected. So we asked for a partial refund instead. The owner refused, saying no one had ever complained in 20 years and pointed to a small sign in the restaurant saying you could request sauce on the side — something we didn’t know as first-time customers, especially since the menu didn’t mention sauce at all.

I calmly knocked on the door hoping to speak with the owner directly. I wasn’t aggressive or confrontational in any way — but he came to the door holding up a phone or tablet showing he had called 911. A police officer eventually showed up and asked the same questions we had. The owner still refused to refund or remake anything.

We were left shocked, disrespected, and out the cost of a meal I couldn’t eat. Sushi isn’t cheap, and this was a ridiculous overreaction to a simple, polite complaint. We weren’t trying to escalate anything — we just wanted basic customer service and fairness. Instead, we got hostility and law enforcement involvement over a soggy roll.

We were absolutely blown away by everything, from the homemade sauce for the pork gyoza to the freshness of the sushi. Definitely plan to return, and often!

This is one of the best spots we've found near Pittsburgh. The food is excellent every time and the owner is incredibly friendly. Highly recommend if you're looking for a bite near Robinson! Also, grab the sushi rice.

Only 1 guy working in the kitchen, serving, and bussing on a weekend. He's also very talkative with attractive female patrons, but left my family sitting around for 10 minutes before even getting menus. Menu prices are all outdated; real prices are much higher. Food took well over an hour to serve. My chirashi bowl was just 8 thin slices of unfresh fish atop a mound of rice, and 6 little sticks of pickles. It looked nothing like what was pictured on the menu. My friend said it the best: "The sushi would have been better at a grocery store."

I hate to leave a bad review but this slop was not sushi!! First, this OMG roll people are raving over came wrapped in foil and lit on fire! Inside it tasted like a glob of burnt something. My god I could barely choke it down. The “rainbow roll” came drowned with some sort of sour mayonnaise on top!!! Any sushi place should know how to make a proper rainbow roll. There was no music or any ambience whatsoever. I felt like I was eating in a funeral parlor. Seriously. Yuck. I will never go back. Could not even finish.

Sunday: thinking about this place again disgusts me. At least I’m still alive.

Inside was pretty standard and bland but this is a place you come for the food, not the ambiance. Service was amazing and the owner was very friendly. The food was top tier and very affordable. Get the OMG roll. You wont be disappointed!

The tastiest sushi I've eaten in forever! Ordered the eel roll, rainbow roll, and a few pieces of sashimi (tuna and salmon) and honestly I can't wait to be in the area again to go back!

If you want to get nosy questions and snide remarks about why you only ordered vegetable sushi rolls, judgments about being vegan or vegetarian and a lecture on the origins of sushi, the all too typical question “ But where do you get your protein?”, and why the guy who made the sushi eats his meat and fish but takes his statin pills, so You should too….this is your place to go! All this while waiting for 3 take-out sushi rolls. Average sushi. Definitely will not return.
