Super unfortunate because my boyfriend is originally from the area, we live in North Huntington, and he hasn’t been here in years. We finally decided to go together today, 9/17/25 around 5:30pm and upon arrival, we were both super excited and it was my first time ever here since I’m not from the area. We were really excited to look around and see everything and went back to the meats. The younger girl that spoke with us explained that she was still pretty new to the store (she had only been there about a month) and was truly a sweet girl. We ended up getting a few pounds of chicken and an entire pound of beef jerky. As we went to check out, the girl at the register was so unnecessarily rude to my boyfriend. We were both taken aback when she slammed the bucket she was wiping down the freezers with on the counter and spoke to him like complete garbage. I was overhearing the conversation as I was asking the older lady with blonde hair behind the deli counter for a pound of pasta salad… when I tell you she literally rolled her eyes while waiting on me, I seriously mean that. I was going to get some wedding soup as well but she treated me like such crap waiting on me that I didn’t even bother. What really upset me was that as she was handing me the pasta salad, she asked me “well how are you going to pay for this” since my boyfriend already had checked out. I gave her a confused look and said “uhm I’m going to pay for it?” She then was like “ohhh ok” like she didn’t believe me.
I’ll tell you what, I’m all about supporting small business but I refuse to go anywhere that the employees treat the customers like complete crap. I understand that it was 5:30 and it was very clear to my boyfriend and I that we were messing with the routine clean up since they closed at 6 but that’s no excuse. I don’t appreciate feeling like waiting on me is an inconvenience for you when my boyfriend and I spent almost $100 in the store before we left…. Completely ridiculous and uncalled for and it’s very obvious everyone in this store dislikes their job. Don’t think will be coming back anytime soon or ever for that matter.
ALSO: After reading multiple reviews, it seems like the employees are a real problem at this store. I wonder how the owner feels about his employees treating customers the way that they do. Interesting.

The Club Sandwich is DELICIOUS. Ask for pickles. The lunch meats are primo, and the hot foods are almost all wonderful. I never had the Hot Sausage or the Paprika Bacon or the Fish, that's why I cant say ALL. Highly recommend. Prices are fair.

The workers are always very nice and friendly but I believe a couple of their granddaughters work there and they are rude every time I go in there.

This is my first visit to this store and it will not be my last that place was absolutely incredible and amazing if you're ever in McKeesport stop in and there's an ice cream shop right next door

This is the only place I'll go now for my meat and lunchmeat.The kolbassi is the best and the roast are the best tasting I've had in years ,and I like the way they slice the lunchmeat,nice and thin plus everyone is very nice!! The stuffed porkchop dinner and smoked porkchop dinner were excellent, and so is your potato salad . I look forward to my weekly stop.

I'm new to the area and exploring. I was thinking about giving Lampert's a try, but sadly after reading how they treat different races of people I think I will pass. Unfortumately I don't want to be treated unfairly where I'm spending money because of my skin color.

My family and I went to purchase a meat pack, being that we are newer to this area we had to view the board to check out prices etc. While waiting we had the two woman working the Deli staring at us and making faces which made us very uncomfortable to even have them pack our meat. I politely told the one woman who was still standing there huffing and rolling her eyes, “We won’t be making any purchases here but Thank you” she then rudely said Okay! It’s sad because I do remember ordering food from Lampert’s with a few Coworkers previously, the food was really good but I guess we weren’t welcomed. I think they must’ve forgot the store is located in McKeesport, the majority of residents looks like me and my family and OUR money is just as green as anyone else’s. We will gladly take the longer trip to the strip district any day before we spend our hard working money there.

just love this great little store. great meats and cheeses, coolers well stocked with drinks and the hot food selection is always good. and so is the premade salads and hoagies. i stop once or twice a week with my granddaughter. she really likes stopping here and grabbing a bite to eat before she heads to practice. some of the foods i enjoyed are steak sandwiches, pappys beef, fish nuggets and my latest is their Italian hoagie pizza. that was so yummy. there is something for everyone, including sweets.the staff is always nice, busy as heck but nice!
Thank you for preparing our 6 steaks. They were cut perfectly. Can’t wait to dig in and grill them. Love Lamperts since I was a young child. Retired from the military and moved back to Pittsburgh and definitely enjoying and supporting our local small businesses. Thank you all again

So this privately owned store has made money in this Godforsaken town because it hasn't anything else . The employees are mckeesport RUDE, THE guy I think is probably the owner is MCKEESPORT rude. The cashiers etc etc etc To give my opinion i.would go to giant eagle ,walmart etc. Same.products.same stuff. More room, more selections I have given this store many chances , tastes.good ,bought.lunch there etc but why.would I give my money.to someone who doesn't appreciate his customers, make it a sheetz. , they have kinder people!! And it would please me and others because trust me there are others! BTW go.to.butcher.shop in.pleasant hills waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy more.polite and kind ! And that goes along way , for.educated people passing through mckeesport , And if this business responds with same Ole response of give us a call we will talk about it the owner I referred to in The beginning was right there watching heavyset woman employee get rude and said nothing !! Cause they don't care at all just want you're money not your return patronage!! And that says volumes! I don't live here used to.stop as I came through but.subway is more pleasant!

First and last time going in this store. I'll just take my business to Giant eagle right down the road. I ordered pepperoni cheese, beef jerky, and an Italian hoagie. Pepperoni cheese is bad and has green stuff on it, beef jerky tasted like it was made with rotten meat and the Italian hoagie is stale and barely anything on it but bread. On top of that as I waiting to get waited on at the deli counter no one would come and help. They all stood there talking to each other and looking at me like I have 2 heads.
Already told people not to go there.

DISCLAIMER: RACIALLY DISCRIMINATING BUSINESS-Let me start off by saying if I could give this place a 0 star I would but I can’t so I’m giving them a 1. I will never ever buying anything from this store ever again!!!! The blatant racial profiling and disrespect was beyond this galaxy. First the employee who answered the phone was very dismissive when I asked what all came on their steak hoagies , she listed only 3 ingredients “meat , cheese, and green peppers” nothing else so I placed my order and when my husband arrives the hoagies have mushrooms all through them. I have NEVER EVER liked mushrooms just not on my palate. We call back they say we’ll remake them & once we get there my husband goes in and the one female employee behind the check out counter was so incredibly disrespectful and racially profiled him claiming he was just here 2 weeks ago complaining about an egg salad sandwich when neither one of us has been to the store in 5 weeks then proceeded to claim that he “always does this” & neither one of us has ever returned any food from them the 6 times we have eaten there in the past 8 months since we moved to the area. After saying those things she then said she listed all the ingredients that came on the hoagies on the phone in which she DID NOT completely lying and distancing herself from accountability. Shame on this business for hiring and allowing employees to treat people this way based on the color of their skin. I will be recommending to all of my family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors to never go to this store!!!!
