Take out of chicken noodle soup: stringy, unchewable tinypieces of chicken - horrible; noodles good; broth good. CB used to have 'like home' cooking - their food EVERYTIME we decide to try ONCE MORE is so terrible! Decline in quality of ingredients, preparation, sometimes in service, although mostly service is excellent. Food is not good at all - not like it used to be. Parking lot not jammed any longer. That's a clue, Cracker Barrel. Pay more attention to service and quality of food preparation and taste.. It's just not a place we like to go any more. Staff is usually nice to deal with!

We hate the menu changes the new pot roast dinner was horrible. Don't like the new coated steak fries either. The quality just isn't what it was. The pot roast was covered in gravy but the meat was still dried out like chewing on jerky chunks. The fried shrimp was not great either. Our waitress never brought the apple butter we asked for and never offered any cornbread biscuits.
We used to love this place but for now will not be going back. It's a shame because before all the changes we would stop almost every time it was one of our favorites.

Great food, always enjoy having a meal at Cracker Barrel. The only negative is the acoustics.

We love cracker barrel in New Stanton Pa, so while we were in the area we though ok let's stop and get dinner, we kind of wondered why the place wasn't very busy for a weekend and at dinner time, because our place is always packed and the line is at the door, but we went in anyway and I ordered the new Nashville Hot chicken with my usual sides of collard green and fried apples while my wife ordered her usual favorite the fried chicken breasts with green beans and mac n cheese, Well to say the least my chicken came out so over cooked that it was like breaking open a rock! and finding no meat inside of the wing, the drumstick, and the thigh, wow! The half breast did have meat in it but was so dry I couldn't eat it. my wife's dinner was ok but missing the great flavor of the breasts like the place back home, but was ok to eat the Nashville hot sauce was nothing more than some hot oil with some kind of pepper sauce in it, not very flavorful and within 30 minuets after eating upset my stomach so bad I spent the rest of the evening with a bad stomach ache. When the girl asked if everything was ok, I said not really but asked if they had new people working the kitchen and she said yes several! OK now we know why the place was empty on a weekend. I told her to mention the manager that my chicken was scorched in the frier so bad it was uneatable, and they need to train these people much better. We still left the girl a decent tip because she was great and we thanked her for the good service and told her good luck with the new cooks.

Great homestyle cooked food! Awesome gift shop! The staff are wonderful! They are very inviting, friendly and great with kids! We took my son there for his birthday because it’s his favorite restaurant, the staff came out with a piece of cake and sang happy birthday to him. 🤗 They really made his day!
I have had many good meals at CB over the years but my most recent was not one of them. My side of rice was undercooked and dry, my carrots were barely warm/cold. If this had been my first visit to CB, I would never go back. But I will try it again.
