3of us came on a Wednesday night and were seated around 7. We didn’t receive our food until 830. Restaurant was evidently short servers and cooks. One of our dishes had multiple hairs in it and upon telling the server, nothing was done about it. Disappointed as we had heard good things about Hidalgo.

Honestly some of the best food I have had. Not just mexican cuisine specifically but actually the best food I have had in general. The mole is exquisite and their pork is always tender. Can't praise this restaurant enough, imo.

Food is always fresh and delicious. Had the ceviche, flautas, and flan, all great. And the family who owns the restaurant are the sweetest, kindest people. So happy to be able to support a small business with fabulous food and service.
Best Mexican food on the mainline! A family business, with authentic options. The guac is excellent, chicken fajitas perfectly seasoned, our favorite were the steak tacos.
Will be back to try the homemade tres leches!

Decent dinner experience. We read reviews ahead of time so we knew there was a strong possibility of singing. The owner has a great and powerful voice. She did two songs and greeted everyone in the restaurant. I could see how this could be a polarizing experience. It will either add or take from your experience.
As for the food, it was just okay for me. The complimentary chips and salsa were a letdown. While the chips had a great crunch it would have been nice to have them warmed up and salted a bit. We would have been tempted to try it with guacamole if the price weren’t so steep. Maybe offering different size options as I’m sure the menu was reflecting a large portion.
Drinks were good - we got the soda and fruit juice. For entrees, we had the Burro Ranchero and Enchiladas con Mole. They were cooked well and tasted good but not memorable enough that we feel the urge to return.

Can’t say enough about the food, service and personal attention. We were made to feel like family. I know I’m going to get her name wrong, but Salidad made the best margaritas with our byob tequila, brought us the best guacamole I’ve ever had. She made recommendations which I regret not ordering the fish dish she recommended (although my shrimp fajitas were delish) I tried my besties fish dinner and OMG. She even sang to my bestie for her birthday and what a voice. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

Went to celebrate my Birthday- what an amazing place! The owner was so warm and welcoming!! She made my day when she sang to me! Beautiful voice! And the food was incredible!!
