Best restaurant experience in quite a while. Outstanding escargot, eggplant frites and various desserts. Savory crepes were delicious, but overlarge, like burritos. Terrific cocktails and excellent professional service. A little noisy until one large group left, but otherwise a perfect special evening for four friends, all of whom have enjoyed French cuisine in France many times.
We dined and had a nice experience. The duck was excellent but the seafood risotto was very creamy leaving the crab almost tasteless. The charcuterie board was alight. The strawberry crepe was somewhat dry. The wines that we sampled were nice though not overremarkable. The service was initially a little spotty and it vastly improved once we settled in.
Absolutely fabulous meal Started with Salad Verte, perfectly dressed. Entrees: Seafood Risotto, so good with chopped lobster & crab, that i didn't even want to try my sister's meal. She had the scallops which she said were sublime. BUT the evening was elevated to another level by the fantastic service of Henry, who worked double time at the bar and hustled as our server too. He is a young man local to the area with obvious mature service experience. Thank you Henry! Give that man raise!
A pleasant restaurant still running its winter menu when we visited. The food was great and the Breton crepe that my partner had was gorgeous. Portions were generous, the staff are nice. I would like to go again for lunch outside on a nice sunny day.
La Belle Epoque is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is superb and the service outstanding. My friend and I had the special menu for Restaurant Week and were extremely satisfied with the experience. Would definitely recommend it.
This restaurant is nothing but phenomenal! Great food and wonderful service. I had the Filet Mignon, which was perfectly cooked. My friend had a crepe, which she loved. I actually brought some home to eat later.
What a perfectly lovely dinner! The food was outstanding, beautifully prepared and presented, and the service excellent! The menu offered plenty of variety, sophisticated preparations but not pretentious. We can't wait to go back!
French fun in a downtownish atmosphere. Cozy, yet cosmopolitan. Authentic, yet American. One foot on each side of the Atlantic, firmly planted. Not to miss.

Mediocre. We ordered the mussels, truffle fries, some wine, a seafood crepe, and the chicken entree (poulet au citron). Standout were the poulet au citron and the sauce for the mussels. For the mussels, not the freshest. Could be better. Sauce was very good and they should probably provide a nice heel of bread for that. Chicken entree was very nice. Crispy skin, well cooked and seasoned. Green beans and potatoes were good but really, how can you mess that up? A bit funny that the best of what we ordered was the most basic. I have no idea why we ordered truffle fries. They were 'ok' and what you would expect anywhere else. The seafood crepe was unremarkable. It is listed as a sort of seafood medley in a white wine cream sauce. There were shrimp, I think, but couldn't discern anything else. They plate it with a side salad, which was nice, but they plopped the crepe on top of that so it was a nice bed of steamed vegetables. Overall, not impressed by the food. You can get food as good or better anywhere in Media. For whatever reason the place was jamming on a Thursday night and they sat us at a dinky table that was next to the bar register. Horrible table placement and we felt like we were in the way the whole time. The host apologized just after seating us, unprompted, so you know that they know it is a shit table. Thanks for that. Wouldn't recommend the place but maybe we hit them on an off night.

Food was too salty, when I told of the problem, they didn't hesitate to correct, and placed a new order,

Food excellent. Best muscles ever had. Excellent filet mignon. Was busy Sat night. Little too loud to hear conversation. Even waiter had hard time. My only other suggestion is to increase drink size. White wine glasses and martini glasses very small. Otherwise cocktails and wine were very good.
I've been a big fan of La Belle Epoque for many years, but last night the food was not great. Maybe it was because we ate late or because it was the last Dining Under the Stars of the season, but the French onion soup was terrible - really stale hard bread, cheese was barely melted and smelled and tasted like it was past its prime. Thankfully, the salads were good and the hangar steak was its usual tasty dish.
Dinner with the girls before class reunion. Seated right away, taken to a lovely table outside, where we could people watch. Water, bread, drinks brought out quickly. We had escargot, Le Poulet crepes, steak salad, shrimp rice dish. We were not rushed, which was nice, as we had a lot of catching up to do! Each of us loved our meals...no doggie bags...From the positive host to our fun and helpful waiter, the night was great!
Far and away, our favorite place in the Philly area!! The food is always excellent and Wes is simply the best there is!! So knowledgeable; so friendly! He makes the evening complete for us!
