I celebrated my birthday last night at Margaret Kuo's at the Promenade, dining solo, and it was excellent. The restaurant remains one of those rare places that feels polished yet comfortable. Even as a table for one, the atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, making it an ideal spot for a quiet but meaningful celebration. As always, I ordered my usual Lazi Jiding from the “secret Chinese menu.” It was outstanding. Perfectly balanced heat, deep flavor, and impeccable execution. It is a dish I have returned to for years, and it never disappoints. Few kitchens prepare it with this level of confidence and consistency. Service was attentive, warm, and professional, enhancing the evening without ever intruding. The experience reminded me why this restaurant continues to be a personal favorite. On a more personal note, I have had a long-standing relationship with Warren and Margaret Kuo. Their dedication to authenticity, hospitality, and quality is evident in every detail. Even dining alone, their influence and care are unmistakable and deeply appreciated. An excellent birthday dinner. Thoughtful, satisfying, and quietly special.

I have been coming here for years it is by far the best Chinese restaurant near by. It is beautiful inside and feels cozy. The house wonton is chefs kiss and so is the sushi.

As soon as we were sat our waitress seemed very annoyed in general and not friendly. I had ordered the spicy salmon roll and a regular salmon roll was brought out. When I mentioned this to the waitress she asked if she could just bring out spicy dipping sauce. I politely declined as I wanted the spicy roll. More than halfway through our sushi rolls and lo mein being brought out my mother’s entree was still not out. When I asked the waitress she seemed very confused. At this point everyone was done eating so we told her we did not want it anymore. She goes in the back and brings it out right away. Which means it was made and ready she just forgot to bring it out. The food overall was good but due to the service I will not be returning.

Margaret Kuo's Granite Run is truly a staple for our family, we are never let down. From the moment we sit down and are greeted with the nuts and cucumbers, we know we are in for a great meal. The appetizers are always outstanding: shrimp in lettuce cups, dumplings, egg rolls, you name it, everything is absolutely delicious. The entrées are consistently prepared to perfection, full of flavor and beautifully done every time. Beyond the food, we always feel so welcomed, which keeps us coming back again and again. Even our daughters love it, especially our picky eater, which says it all! This is one of our favorite places and a must visit.

The best Asian food resturant around, once you eat at Margaret Kuo's it's difficult to dine at any other Asian restaurant. I highly recommend them.

Reservations for 7:45 for 2. Arrived on time and checked in as soon as we were acknowledged (7:50). Waited to be seateduntil 8:20 pm before we left. Very disappointed to have our NYE plans fall through. Margaret Kuos has been a favorite for years… not sure if we will be back.

Unreal. Had reservations for Christmas. When I called 3 days ago i was told they could get us in at 4pm. We waited in PACKED lobby which I understand. But after 20 minutes of us not being acknowledged by anyone that worked there I asked Bar Manager if anyone was checking folks in. He said someone is. Not him. And he doubted we were getting in. I guess my fault that they way overbooked and have zero concept of customer service. We left without anyone asking our name or apologising. Merry Christmas? Will not be back.

Food is good. Large wonton soup is just in a large container with extra broth. Sushi was great. Not super exited to go back . But I would if I was in the area.

Well worth the driving journey as food, drinks, wine selection and staff are very best for an Asian (Chinese/Sushi) restaurant in the Philadelphia/ Wilmington market.
