I’d like to think I’m pretty fair when it comes to rating. I was really excited about coming here and I virtually starved myself for the day. That being said, this place was SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. We bought 2 x 10 oz filet mignon (1 with lump crab which was really fishy). Neither had any taste, and for a filet they were pretty tough. On top of that, my wife’s was way more rare than medium rare. The place, sadly seemed like it was stuck in the 70/80s. I ordered a drink, telling them I had an allergy to cherries, but they served me one anyway. Lastly, the alcohol type I ordered, bullet bourbon was absolutely not was they sold me. For years I’ve been looking forward to going here, and I without a doubt , will never go there again.

We have 2 10 oz filet mignon. To sum it up. It was absolute garbage. The meat was terrible in both, and their drinks... I told them I had an allergy and they forgot to accommodate leaving it at that. I was looking forward to coming here and it was, such a disappointment.

Very underwhelming. Food wasn’t great. Service was not great. Then they charged extra 3 pct bc I paid with cc. Nowhere did it say that. I found that kind of annoying for a restaurant of this cost. Plenty of better places to go on State Street. Give this place a pass….

I am not too sure why Stephen's has such low reviews. I have been here 4 or 5 times to sit down at the restaurant portion of it and always had such a pleasant experience. Me and my friend like to order a bunch of things 3/4 appetizers a few entrees a few drinks and a few desserts every time we go. Every time everything was exceptional. I thought the food is excellent. Presentation of the food is great. One time I got an order to go and it wasn't ready but that doesn't have anything to do with the food.

I love this place. It has the charm of a well-established, unpretentious, neighborhood bar-restaurant, which it is. The staff is wonderful, attentive, and friendly. The portions are quite large. We have been there 3 times thus far. Yesterday, the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer could not have been more perfectly cooked: the shrimp were juicy and the bacon was crispy. Their 14oz, char-grilled, spice crusted New York strip steak is the best steak I've ever had. I have had it on each visit. The atmosphere is also cozy and romantic in the dining area. My partner and I always leave full and satisfied. Highly recommended.

I sat the bar and ordered takeout.The service was very fast and very friendly. Great beers, Levante pilsner.I ordered the Black and Bleu Burger. Since it's a steak house I went with rare.They nailed it. Burger was perfectly done and seasoned. The meat was delicious and the choice of Gorgonzola over regular Bleu cheese is a real winner.A true steakhouse burger done right. Recommended!
