My husband picked this up for lunch for us and we got “the luv & comfort” sandwich and then a pulled pork sandwich. The luv & comfort was decent very heavy but tasted good. The pulled pork sandwich left much to be desired. They were out of brisket or I would have went that route. I’ll try again but wasn’t overly impressed.

I never write reviews but I ordered a gumbo from this restaurant that made me sit up straight in my chair and my hairs stand on end. Maybe the best gumbo I've ever had, counting multiple visits to New Orleans. I've had their shrimp and barbecue and everything is great. Folks working there are friendly as well. I don't know why there isn't a line out the door every day. The food is legit.

This is the best cheesesteak in the borough by far. Tried them for the first time today and the cheesesteak was perfect.
It’s definitely in the top 5 cheesesteaks I’ve had anywhere.
A great steak! And the fries were great too!

We had the Squealer and the Rocky Baliboa with bacon cheese fries. Everything was delicious and you could tell the cooks put their heart into it. The Rocky was cooked to perfection, best broccoli rabe. The squealed was literally Heaven on a sandwich. Fantastic food and service!!!

The NY Chopped Cheese is Bronx Bodega worthy. Excellent. Potato Salad is also delicious.

The service was good and quick. We got the sliced brisket and it was not edible. However, they were quick to replace it, which we replaced with the pulled pork and kielbasa, which were great. In their defense, it's a small place and it was the middle of the week, so I assume it was the tail end of the previous week's brisket. It had great flavor so I'm sure it's wonderful fresh.

I should’ve known better after seeing some of the reviews. I ordered a brisket platter with Mac and cheese and fries with cornbread. By far the worst brisket I’ve ever had. It was so rubbery and tasted old, I could tell it wasn’t fresh. I don’t know who runs the place but you should be embarrassed to send out something that was completely inedible. The Mac n cheese and fries were fine but that brisket was awful.

I am safe serve certified and have worked with food for a while. I have changed careers but still uphold restaurants to a high standard of cleanliness and using gloves when dealing directly with food(fresh).
I have been wanting to taste the food here for about a year now, especially because I love BBQ! I finally got the opportunity today and, sadly, was not impressed... Entering the establishment, the owner was at the door chatting with what I can gather were 2 customers; the customers looked like a couple. There was no acknowledgement of a hello to me so I proceeded to the counter. I was greeted there by the workers. I ordered a sandwich called a sealer. It had pork, fries, apple slaw, and bbq sauce. By this time, the owner finished up his conversation, gives a lil hug with with one of them, sits down by the door and attends to his work computer. Still no greeting towards me.
As I'm watching the crew make my sandwich, I'm checking for glove use and cleanliness. I seen one of the workers touching various objects and food with the same gloves...another workers realized he didn't have gloves on and then put them on before cooking the meat for my sandwich... I then became disheartened... the owner comes from the door area, with his apron on, and starts touching food products and making sauce on the grill without, you guessed it, gloves or washing his hands... initially....after just fixing your computer and hugging the customers he was just conversing with...appalled, I was, because that cross contamination is unacceptable. He then washed his hands and starts whistling while he works...all I could think of was the amount of saliva that could be leaving his lips towards my food. Thankfully, he walked away from the area my sandwich. He still did not put gloves on behind the counter for the duration of time I was waiting for my sandwich...while he e was still making a sauce. The icing on the cake that ticked me off was when I seen the employee that was making my sandwich come from behind the counter, with his gloves on, go to refrigerator that customers access to pull out the apple slaw for my sandwich....I couldn't believe it!! I should've gotten my money back then but I wanted to see the sandwich assembled fully to review the contents and see if the amount of contents was worth the price.
About a minute or so later I received my sandwich. I was in there for about ten minutes or so. The only one that seemed to know how to handle did and money was the cashier who took my order. She stayed at her post, didn't take over food by fraternizing with the cooks. The guy who wrapped my sandwich told me thank you and have a good night. He was the one that didn't change his gloves but he and the cashier sent me out the door with a nice exit. When I ate the sandwich, I was also disappointed. The flavors didn't mesh. Maybe too much stuff or wrong combinations but I was dissatisfied. It was stuffed for the size just not tasty. Overall, I give this place a two for the reasons mentioned. I wanted to try other things of the menu but this experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Started off strong with the Gumbo. Some of the meat in it had a great smoke flavor. The brisket had a good taste but was very tough. By the looks of it, it was sliced way before being served. May be more tender if you slice to order. Green beans were cold and lacked flavor. Mac and cheese was decent, but nothing crazy. Flavor or cornbread was good, but was definitely dried out and didn't taste fresh(weird aftertaste). Ribs were a disappointment. They smothered them in BBQ sauce, to the point that I could taste the smoke of the meat. Meat was also a little tough on the ribs.
Overall, I see a lot of potential if a few things with prep were changed. I would love to try again at some point if techniques and prep are changed. Best of luck!
