These guys have really good foods however recently they've been skimping on the amount of food when the price is the only thing that goes up. The 5-spice beef and the pork bellies were basically topping off a mound of cheap lettuce, and both of them cost well over $10. Insanity when I know how much these dishes should cost. Anyways, this wouldn't be the reason for 3 stars, though, but being very generous, I found a small stone in my mapo tofu. This is a severe mistake that could have cracked my tooth, or I dont know what will happen if I just swallowed it. No stone should be allowed in any type of food in the year 2025!! I will need an apology from the restaurant. Picture included for the proof. If I dont get any apologies by the next 30 days, this review will become one star.

Edit: As I promised, here is one star. It's not that hard to be apologetic, I dont care if you think you never make a mistake, oh so high and almighty best Chinese place in the town. You made a mistake, and I asked for an apology. That stone could've messed with my stomach or cracked my tooth. Don't care because you have 4.x star reviews? Don't be so cocky with your reputation. Karma will be back to you. I'm never ordering here again.

Me and my family come here often, if you want authentic Shanghai cuisine, this is the place to go! I recommend the beef brisket noodles and the Sichuan spicy beef stew! (水煮牛肉)One of the best Chinese restaurants I'd say in Pennsylvania area! The price is very reasonable for the quality and taste of the food! The people work here are very friendly! Chinese people don't play with their food! Proud!Every bite melts in your tongue! And the layers of aroma satisfying your taste buds endlessly! 😋😋😋

The place to get dim sum in Media. Good is terrific and the service is great and fast. Recommend the Shanghai Shumai, Crab Meat Pork Soup Dumplings, Scallion Pancake, and Bok Choy.

It is a pretty good restaurant. We enjoyed our visit. We like the food. Staff were polite. The service was good. Everything went the way it was supposed to

It was a good experience. It was not a great wow-inspiring experience.

If we live around here, it will definitely be a place we visit again

Let me get this out of the way before I comment on the food:
I called and placed and order for 4 items which were repeated to me over the phone and I was told it would be ready in 15 mins. I arrived in 30 mins and the man at the desk could not find my order. Hs then called someone on the phone (apparently someone in the back) and found out there was an order taken but not made! There only two tables occupied (one had just ordered, the other hadn’t ordered) and the man explained he didn’t know what was going on and he’d just returned. He told me they would now have to prepare my order. 30 minutes later I was able to get it. I would have left without getting the food but he’d already charged my card before he reluctantly announced they would have to prepare it. How aggravating with no offer of making up for this faux pas.

The food:
The dim sum is good.I got pork and chive dumplings and Shanghai dumplings.
The won-ton soup was terrible - not miuch soup loaded up weirdly with escarole and bok choy and 3 dumplings and it was tasteless!
I also got a shrimp noodle dish which had a load of overcooked noodle soaked in a brown sauce that was bland and tasteless with 5 shrimp which believe or not was also tasteless. Ughhh.

If you must go there stick to their limited dim sum menu and forego the rest!
I’ll be trying dim sum - which I really love - else where.
I don’t think I’ll be checking out the place 2 doors down.
I’m all for forgiving a disastrous first experience except for the fact that of the staff’s attitude.

I've been going to Tom's for years, and the food is always incredibly delicious. The service is excellent, the dishes come out quickly, and everything is reasonably priced. You get a lot for what you pay. I can't imagine going to another Dim Sum restaurant because Tom's is just that amazing. 10/10 recommend!
