This review was for The Shebeen.
There was an odd odor to the place as we walked in. The fish in my fish and chips ($25), of which there wasn't much, was *way* over fried, to the point where I had a separate little plate full of the inedible breading. The chips were okay, but tasted like they had been baked in an oven in which something had previously burnt. I've had far, far better for less. My girlfriend's American Burger was as basic as basic could be. Not exactly bad, but certainly not worth $22. The fig and chorizo flatbread was outstanding but overall it was a completely underwhelming meal for $96 before tip.

This was not at all what seems to be advertised by the website…as my hubs said, the marketing got me. Basically overpriced bar food…but not good bar food. We sent back the mussels and the charcuterie board had the butterfly crackers my mom buys from the grocery store with pre cut cheese, crab cakes were mostly filler and the Brussels sprouts were awful and just covered in grated parm. Very disappointing. We honestly only stayed because we had time constraints due to a show time at the theater.

Great time, everytime I visit this place. I fell in love with it from my 1st visit. I had my 50th birthday party here and visit whenever I get a chance. Great staff good food, good drinks and friendly people.

Went on Christmas Eve with family and ordered the Beef Wellington off the Specials menu. It was ice cold in the middle and pretty much raw, barely touching what would be considered rare. The wait staff and manager apologized and asked if I wanted something else, but the problem was everyone was already eating and by the time I would have got mine they would have all be done and we had to get to our next stop. They did give me a meal to go (Turkey and ham dinner) and that wasn't great either and that was on the Specials too. I guess moral of the story is don't get anything on the Specials menu on a holiday because I've been there for Easter 2025 and honestly wasn't super impressed, but I needed to write about this experience. It's a shame because I've been there for a party before upstairs and the catering food was ten times better than what is served downstairs. Also shoutout to the staff working, I give them 5 stars for working Christmas Eve, but the food is a hard 1.

Food was delicious. Our waitress was precise and professional. Only reason didn't get 5th star? A little unfair to be picky the day after New Year's eve, but the foyer leading to the bathroom looled like it could use a little bit of a mop (not terrible, just noticable). I would defintely go again. I went once before for an event and the food and atmosphere was excellent then as well!
Great place for drinks in the summer. Just left there 15 min ago it’s New Year’s eve and the DJ could not have been worse. Awful energy and engagement with the crowd. Everybody was standing there like a middle school mixer. Not very fun, expected more for a place with a decent cover.
Came here for brunch on the weekend and it was very disappointing. The short rib was cold and dish drained in hollandaise sauce instead of on the side. The steak was mainly cartilage and also cold. Shakshuka was the best out of all of our orders.

Dec 2025-Really wanted to like it but… we had a reservation for 14 in Shebeen which is really decorated so festively. They tried to put us in the Quizzo room. We said we were supposed to be in Shebeen. They ended up putting us in the main room which was very nice just not the vibe we were going for. The drinks were good. The food and service were very poor. Two people sent their food back and didn’t order anything else. Another’s was cold and didn’t really eat it but didn’t send it back. We were all in a fun mood but the Townhouse let us down. Would not recommend for dinner. Maybe drinks and french fries.

I love the different rooms and atmosphere Townehouse offers, but I keep giving this place a chance and it’s consistently disappointing. We dined for brunch today and it took over 20 minutes for 2 glasses of champagne to be poured & served, our one dish was wrong and when they brought the correct one it was clear it had been sitting out for a while (dry and lukewarm). I appreciate the vision this establishment was going for but I’d rather dine somewhere small and pay for quality.

Horrible Humans. Ridiculously expensive. Don’t you dare ask them (a bartender that works there) to take a picture of you and your friends or you will get kicked out and accused of something bizarre. God Speed. Hope you go out of business Asap
