This is a great place with tasty food, enormous portions and pleasant staff. Very reasonable prices.
Large menu, reasonable prices, delicious meals, friendly environment. We were so glad we happened to stop here for dinner. Excellent all round!
It's a shame that I have to leave a star to leave this review, but this is the second time I have been here and I can't even say the service is sub par, they literally don't want new customers. Do not even attempt to ask a question before you order something. I did this twice and was met with the wrath of Khan, or a look like why are you here? To see something new? To experience something that you haven't experienced before? Because we aren't here to serve people who haven't been here before. Just make sure you get your club card so you feel welcome when you come. 1 star because after visiting twice, ordering once and having the audacity to request a "menu", of drinks, before I order on my second visit to be schooled on how ordering works "here" , before receiving proper service just doesn't make sense. Good luck to all who Enter without a membership.
Awesome bar and Frank is great!
After reading all the positives reviews my wife and I decided to try tavern 52. We were not impressed. Nothing seemed like it was scratch made so the food was just OK. The place was clean and the waitress was fine. I had the fish and chips and my wife had ribs. For us, it was certainly nothing special. Much better food in West Chester and Kennett. We won't be back.
We absolutely enjoyed ourselves at tavern 52 , management and staff have gone over and above to accommodate our little group! The food and drink specials are what we want and they have made everything right for our group to welcome others. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent food, lots of variety. I’ve been here lots of times with my Aunt. This is one of her very favorite places to go. She likes the food just as much as she likes to see Liz! Liz is always so lovely and friendly. We love Tavern 52, and always have a great time!!!
After many visits, I’ve made my way through most of the items on the menu. I’ve never been disappointed or dissatisfied with anything I’ve ordered. The food is freshly made and fantastic. Very generous portions, also.I bring my young daughters in from time to time. We always receive a warm welcome and personalized experience. My oldest ALWAYS suggests Tavern 52 when dining out is the topic. In a nutshell, you can’t go wrong with dining at this establishment.
We had a really good time at Tavern 52. The only negative was with my order. I ordered the SHRIMP SCAMPI which is $24.00. It came with 4 shrimp. A grossly overpriced dish for 4 shrimp. But it tasted pretty good.
I had the pizza and was not impressed. The sauce was flavorless. The crust was thick, bready & burnt. The cheese was excellent and the rest of the toppings were good. The price was reasonable. My wife got the spinach ricotta and sun dried tomatoes ravioli. She did not enjoy hers either. She found those sun-dried tomatoes in it. She also found the sauce to be blah. My mother bought spaghetti and did not like it. I can't recommend the food at this place.

Nice place to dine when in the Longwood gardens area that is located on RT 52 PS they are not open on Mondays
We made a reservation for lunch at Tavern 52 before our visit to Longwood Gardens and were so impressed. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays and was so warm and inviting. Our server was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and our meal arrived in a timely manner.
I made this reservation 10 days in advance, received multiple reminders that I had to reply back to to keep the reservation only to show up and find the restaurant closed! Are you kidding me. Not a single email, call or text from either open table or the restaurant itself. I will never consider dining there again and will probably stop using open table as well. Horrible experience.
Decorated very nice for Christmas. Nice variety of food. Food was very good with generous portions. The only problem was the waitress. She was nasty, rude and just not nice at all. I think she does the restaurant a disservice by being there. I would think twice about going there again if she was there.
The calamari appetizer had much too much salt on it (not sure why salt was added to begin with). Did not like the smell of the disinfecting cleaner being used on tables around us particularly when we were eating.
